Compensation question, for years of mistakes by DMC

Hi, im interested in opinions about compensation....
I was with a debt management company for a few years, i left them over a year ago because (in brief) they duplicated debts, they discussed my accounts after i left them, sent payments to creditors i didnt owe anything to, told me debts had been sold when they hadnt, payment were sent but never arrived,........the list goes on. When i left, a lady told me because i was leaving every creditor would charge me interest and possibly back date it, luckily its recorded. All in all a terrible experience, after i made a formal complaint, they admitted dupliacting a debt and giving a terrible service. I have had a refund of all management fees, and £100 good will.
Im insulted at £100 good will, baring in mind i still have a debt that they made up and iv been corresponding with them and creditors for over a year to try and sort out the huge mess.
Would like opinions of what would be an acceptable good will payment?
Thank you

anything over £1 is a good goodwill paymenthelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
The problem with goodwill is it is entirely discretionary so £100 seems somewhat reasonable (to me).
It does appear, however, that you may have genuine suffered financial loss as a result of their actions - my feelings are you should be compensated for this. Can you quantify the impact that they have caused you? This would be a starting point for ten.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

Thanks for your response, the impact is 2 years of sorting out a mess they created, it still isn't sorted. I still have a debt they created. My opinion is they refund me the money they paid for a debt that isnt mine, and get the money from the creditor in their time not mine. their response is give us more time to get they money from the creditor. They have had over a year so farReading the stories and advice on here has given me the strength to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that light will shine bright in......

If so, write them a letter stating the amount they owe you, and give them say 14 days to pay it. Tell them you will start legal action if they haven't paid what they owe you in that time.
Call that letter a letter before action, and send it recorded delivery. There are samples elsewhere on this forum.0 -
But the question was... can you quantify that impact/loss?

Can you be specific with the number of hours etc? The more scientific and fact based you make your claim the more likely you are to get a result.
How much do you value your time at?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Well, i will use minimum wage, and start to work out how many hours plus postage costs i have incurred. I will list it like an invoice.
Thank you for your help, i had better get started!Reading the stories and advice on here has given me the strength to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that light will shine bright in......
