Thanks for that, but why deisel should be 8p a litre more is beyond me as at the refinery it comes off first before petrol!0

Because diesel vehicles do more miles to the gallon so they feel they have to get more money off them one way or another.
However the official excuse will be something along the lines of lack of diesel refining. Strange that when prices between the two used to be very similar.0 -

Then,as diesel engined cars gained in popluarity the tax increased and the oil companies whacked up the price.
It is still cheaper in countries such as Spain.0 -
i suppose its like energy if everyone as of tomorrow had solar panels fitted to there rooftops , the utilities companys would wack up the cost to cover lost revenue ,regardless of there overheads increasing or not.0

Accept few people have solar panels and energy supplies have still put up energy bills to subside others who have solar panels and rent a roof schemes, bills have increase to around £100 to pay for it. Thats why they are lowering FiT scheme because its simply not sustainable and prices have droppedi suppose its like energy if everyone as of tomorrow had solar panels fitted to there rooftops , the utilities companys would wack up the cost to cover lost revenue ,regardless of there overheads increasing or not.0

Nearest Asda is an hours drive for me, so hopefully Tesco will follow suit. Ive got a 5p off voucher as well so will hang onto it for a few more days and see what happens!...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

That's on 1p down from what Asda in Keighley has been charging for weeks!Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

My local two stations (BP, Esso) have been charging 128.9p all week whereas the Tesco Superstore approx 2 miles away charges 133.9p!!! I don't have an Asda nearby
Diesel is more expensive simply because of supply and demand. Demand for diesel is at it's highest it's ever been due to more diesel vehicles being sold.0 -
I'm paying £1.44 a litre of petrol at the moment0

Local station had no diesel this morning (@140.9) so had to pay £1.80 a litre for veg oil otherwise wouldn't have made it to work...0
