iPhone recycling
Hello.
It's upgrade time, and I'd like to recycle my current iPhone 3G 8GB if possible. Considering its age, it's in pretty good nick, bar a couple of blemishes.
However, recently I lost the silver volume slider that sits at the side of the phone. It appears this makes the phone as a whole 'non-working' in the eyes of recycling companies; I was just wondering if any of you kind people knew of a company that would still take the phone without the volume button - to be honest I'd probably take anything over £30.
Many thanks for your help.

you can get a replacement volume button from ebay for a couple of quid, they just stick on with double sided tape anyway so would be easy to replace and you can trade it in as complete.
I hope that helps!0 -
If you or know someone with an ebay account you would be better of selling on there you would get a lot more that that even sold spare or repair you would get at least £60 and with switch at least £90....Plus postage which most put £7
All them recycle places rip you off...have a look on this forum and see how many people complain that they say one thing and then when you send the phone off they come back with a smaller amount that they want to pay.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

You make far more money selling it yourself - and many of these 'recycling' companies actually do the same thing, their profit marchine is much better that way. Find a local repairer if you are not confident in fixing it yourself, as something as simple as that should be around £25, and will enhance your retail value.0
