Escape prepaid mastercard (Tuxedo)

I found this prepaid card as a recomendation on a money saving site - but I strongly urge people NOT to use it - unless you make sure the funds are on the account before you leave for your holiday - the top-up whilst abroad facility simply does not work.

The benefits of the card were that once activated and loaded, it was easy to use as a Mastercard worldwide with no withdraeal fees at ATMs and after the initial loading then any further were instantly applied to the account.

Problems are - it takes over 5 -7 working days once the money leaves your bank account for it to appear on the card, and then although I was assured by customer services that the next transfer would be instant, we were stuck in Malaysia and had to use normal debit or credit cards to obtain funds or services locally.

I now feel a fight is on as I try to reclaim the £900 that was transferred out of my bank account onto the card - only £300 has appeared on the card to date.
I also will try to reclaim the charges that I have incurred with my own bank for then using these facilities .. which was one of the other reasons to take out the prepaid card.

Do not use this card - just not worth the aggro ... we had a lovely time in Kuala Lumpur anyway, at least I recommend that!!!
