New BT Yahoo Mail Software

Please help, I am a severely sight impaired computer user and a bt customer. Last week I clicked on a link to upgrade to the new version of bt yahoo mail. I thought that i would be able to roll back to a previous version if I was unable to use it. The rollback option has been featured in all previous versions.
Sadly I soon discovered that due to my sight problems I am unable to use the version of bt yahoo mail.I have spent the last week trying to rollback to an earlier version with no success. I submitted an email for assistance to bt on this matter and received no response, my wife telephoned bt broadband tech support yesterday and they were of no help. Can someone please help me
many thanks

I totally agree.
The latest version of BT Yahoo mail is a bag of worms.
There is little doubt that the PRIMARY reason for the change is to increase the amount of unsolicited advertising they thrust upon you.
Under the new version you get irritating adverts jumping up and down whilst trying to read an email. You can stop it but that only applies at individual email level. As soon as you read another email even in the same box you have to stop the adverts again.
Despite adverts from BT saying it is faster it is not, in many ways it is slower.
For someone with impaired vision the space for your text whilst reading has declined unless you get rid of the adverts EVERY time you read a mail.
There appears to be no global setting to say you don't want them appearing alongside text in an email.
I have sent a complaint to BT also asking how I revert back to the old and in my opinion better version. As many will know it is utterly pointless phoning their Indian call centre.
As one who worked in IT for many years I think this change BT are forcing on it's users is a classic one where there is actually no benefit to the user at all and all the benefits are to BT in increased advertising revenue but undoubtedly they will be faced with a declining user base.
If any one from BT actually reads these posts perhpas they will give us users what we actually want.0 -
You do not say what windows you are using.
I do not know BT Yahoo mail, but it seems that you can use an ordinary e-mail program.
How about downloading thunderbird e-mail program, and set your bt yahoo mail to accept pop3 that may well help you.
help link, but does not include Thunderbird, but it does tell you how to change the settings in BT mail.

Just found Thunderbird setup

this does not take into account the latest version of Thunderbird but will give you some basic info..0 -
Or you can use the existing desktop email program that should be pre-installed on your PC (Outlook Express with XP, Windows Mail for Vista, Windows Live Mail for W7). The latter will have to be downloaded.
All these and Thunderbird are much better than the horrible BT Yahoo offering. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
As you are sight impaired and perhaps need decent contrast on the text and screen layout, I would not suggest Windows Live mail as it has pastel colours and as far as I know you can only change to different pastel colours.0

Try reading this Click here.
Soldier on with this solution if you can , it does work as I have reset 3 accounts with it. Make sure your display slider goes right down to 800x600.
I am on XP and did work, I laso reset an account from aPC using Vista and that worked as well.
Many Thanks espresso.
From looking at other sites this issue has been raised for months all over the world.0 -

I would suggest you can if you are able register a complaint through the normal channels about this.
I have just received an email from BT confirming that they have rest my accounts to the OLD version. Will monitor this as I have 5 accounts and one is till prompting to me change and I keep saying no.
It will be worth a try especially if you explain your problems.
Best of luck0 -
I have just done this using the method posted by RUDJAKE ,you will have to scroll down the page to it
