but it is not up to anyone else to decide that one does not require a lunchbreak at lunchbreak time.

you won't die without one, therefore it's not a requirement but optional.

Such things would - should - be made clear during indcution.
And, as for the post upthread suggesting that we are going back in time, I agree inasmuchas it seems that slavery and poor working conditions and treatment are becoming acceptable (again...)

We should never use the lowest common denominator as a measure of our success or progress.
    :(

But it was 8 til 1...
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • His lunch hour is 1 - 2pm but he finished at 1pm and slept through lunch.
  • I wonder if the Tories will eventually bring back the workhouse for all those on JSA?, then everybody can sit around and sew sacks and gain new skills like breaking rocks etc.

    WHAT??????!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

It comes with the territory - ie having a body that requires feeding at regular intervals. It's not an illness to need a meal at mealtime - I've never heard that one before....:rotfl:

Certainly there are, at least, a large number of people who HAVE to have a meal pretty promptly at mealtime. That is - because if we don't - then we come over feeling more or less weak and a bit ill. That is entirely normal - and not a symptom of being ill forgawdsake.

I know this - because I'm one of the MANY people who HAVE to have a meal each mealtime without fail - because otherwise I will feel weak/sick/a bit ill (delete as appropriate). But - I can assure you I am perfectly healthy and perfectly normal - and our bodies are quite right too on insisting that "Its mealtime - so eat". Mother Nature's way of looking after us and making sure we don't get ill.:D

I'm horrified actually at anyone thinking we should expect our bodies to go straight through a "mealtime" and not eat and would consider we were ill for needing a meal at mealtime.. Didnt think there was much left that would shock me by now - but that certainly does...

Ceridwen thank the Lord for your common sense.
As just one example on the Slimming World plan you HAVE to eat and eat proper food regularly. Obviously you have to eat the right things.
E.g. The people who eat at regular intervals are the ones who are losing weight.
The ones who are restricted on how often they can eat are the ones who either stay the same or even gain a little weight yes thats right, gain it
There was a theatre nurse who was coming to class. However she had two weeks of upheaval at work and she and her colleauges didnt have time to eat during the day. They were moving operating theatres from one end of the hospital to another so had to move and organise a lot of medical equipment.
So even though she was doing plenty of excersise she did NOT lose any weight (in fact one week she gained a pound) This is because the body hangs on to any food it gets if you are not eating regularly because it doesnt know when you can eat again.

I am sorely tempted to print off this thread and give a copy to my Slimmng World consultant. So she can see what people are sometimes up against.
She is also attending the annual SW awards later this month. There will be more than a smattering of journalists present at these awards some of whom have written about the causes of obesity in the past. Some of the attitudes on here could certainly be used in an article especially as one particular poster has given the opposite advice to an overweight woman in another thread.
Because hes obviously too thick to realise that following the advice he gave in this thread is what would make someone overweight in the first place.
This site has become absolutely ridiculous.

    Why?

    Seriously.

The discussion has become about something of a bigger picture - your shouting and stubborn repetition is making you look silly or nasty or both.

    Journalists aren't scientists.

Anecdotal data, even in volumes, is not science.

Come back with proper peer reviewed science and I'll believe you. Not stuff fed to you by people who are paying you to swallow it.
