Phantom contract
Im getting ready for a new contract so went into the orange shop to ask about an early iPhone upgrade was quoted a not bad get out price then was told I owed orange 500 quid for a contract I took out 2 years ago the only phone I took out then was my iPhone there was bait of bother switching the wrong handsets off at the time and it till nearly 2 weeks to get the right handset and right sim back together and I think this is where the confusion arises
Other than now demanding this money that I only just been informed about they wont discuss this matter saying that because I've never challenged it earlier that I therefore must by default owe thus figure
I've been with orange now since 1994 and apart from the multiple direct debit charges they now charge (5 phones on account) am happy staying with them but as it stands now I seem to have no choice but to leave

Leaving doesn't solve the problem. If you don't solve it debt collectors will start chasing you soon and the default will remain recorded in your credit file(s).0

Yeah, you need to sort it out. Leaving it will only create more problems. Get on to billing and see if they can work out what's gone wrong.0

If you were with Orange anyway surely they must have tried to contact you about this debt, otherwise how were you able to challange it, maybe you should ask for proof of how they tried to contact you about the debt and when it was.....sanfly0 -
They have done nothing and haven't since no record of this debt seems to exist but its still there on the computer stoping me upgrading any of the mobiles on the account as for leaving your right it won't solve the problem and I may be harassed by debt collectors but this is a company that couldn't do enough for you when I first joined and now there just as big corporate crooks as most of the rest of rip off Britain
I'll try them again but am not holding my breath and if no joy will just wait for the contracts to end one by one and join another network0 -
THis shouls be sorted, but do it in WRITING, explaining you've only just learned when you tried to upgrade and you are annoyed you had to find out this way. They may cbe able to sort it quickly, but certainly not on the phone. Give them 28 days to resolve it AND check your credit file too, in case there is a nasty surpeise waiting...0
