    Great news BIB

Definitely get you, there were a few reasons, but one was getting a piddling amount of interest the other month on my non-ISA pots that helped push me to put some of it into an ISA. Hopefully I wil be equally pleased next year!

Maybe I'll be braver by then and able to have them all in the ISA :rotfl:

I do have one .... but there's not a lot going into it just now as still concentrating on the pots!

Actually had a thought about a better spreadsheet which would let me combine a few more of them if I can figure out how to do it (think it's maybe along the lines of what Mort was meaning) a bit like my budgeting spreadsheet (which I didn't do!).

If I could have a "totals" page in worksheet 1 and then each separate budget on a worksheet that may work - unfortunately not yet figured out how to do sums from one worksheet to another as yet:o

This is the sort of formula you need =Sheet2.C12 the sheet bit tells it which sheet to use and the C12 is the cell.
The easiest way to do it is to click on a cell on your first sheet type = then select the sheet and cell you want to link to.

Brilliant, thanks Mort :D think I'm getting there but have a slight problem:o

Front (totals) page looks like this:

    Onepot.jpg

The totals come from each individual budget's spreadsheet but a bit confused how to put this in the formula - fine for this one as I've taken the column the current total is in .... but this will change whenever I add / remove something eg:

    onepotexample.jpg

Currently the figure is the one in cell E4, but when I add another line, it will then be the total in E5 - is there anyway to put this into the formula on the totals page, or would I have to re-do the formulas everytime I made a change to any of the worksheets?

Sorry, probably a silly question :o but I'm not an Excel expert - OK if they're set up, but not great at creating them myself!:o

Any advice welcomed:D & actually quite looking forward to being able to reduce the number of pots!:)

Two ways I would tackle this. You could have the balance formula at the top of the column and that way it never moves. Or you could have the balance at the bottom of your list in a named cell after a blank row, then for each new item insert a new row above the blank one. then on your totals sheet a ll you do is reference the named cell =SUM(namedcell).

PS I use Libre Office Calc these days but the theory will translate to Excel.
