£18 a month???

I am with Metronet/Plusnet, their 'Metronet PAYGo Option 3' giving me 10GB a month for £18.
I am a bit stuck at the moment, becasue I have a friend who says I am being ripped off, I can get as good for cheaper; but another who says that and a static IP is cheap.
I work from home and reliability is paramount. To be honest £18 is no big deal. But no one likes to feel ripped off do they?

Is this a good or a bum deal??

I pay £29.99 with static IP and unlimited use for adsl 2 I get around 14Mbps. It depends on what you get, if reliability is paramount .

It seems company is owned by Plusnet aka BT
  • Thanks for this. I now see I can get Extra Broadband & Anytime Calles from £14.99 + £11.99 line rental from Plusnet.

Given this is the 'same' company there should be no speed restrictions, and I get a whopping 50GB per month added to the 10GB I am paying £18.75 a month for now. Seems a snip really given I have been happy with Metronet/Plusnet for years.

As stated I pay £18.75, plus whatever BT charge taking me way into the £30's. Surelyu a no-brainer.....

    Unless anyone else know better...

Try BE Broadband. I have been with them for 4 years and they are excellent. Never had any major problems and they have an excellent customer service team.

Moneywise, I pay £14 a month for 19Mbps, unlimited download.

Unless you are running a server from home a dynamic IP address instead of the static one you have now should not really matter.

Plusnet have just put their prices up to £12.99!

I'm with O2 who took over BE so am running on BE hardware at the exchange. unlimited adsl 2, achieving 6Mbps download, 1Mbps upload for £10 per month.
