Skoda yeti?
Or for a full sized van / minibus type Mazda Bongo Friendee. You can fit the whole family, grandkids, the dog and the motorised scooter in. And it's 4wd.Near a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around....0 -
What about a standard car with a loader?

or similar0 -
Neither of those look suitable for powered wheelchairs by the looks of things. Especially not the one held in by velcro!0

There's a loader for most types.0 -
Do they need it for your granddad to be in the chair when it's in the car or does your granddad get in the car and then your grandma puts the chair in?
If your grandma puts the chair in, why not a 4x4 that's big enough for it, a set of ramps and your grandma drives it up when your granddad is in the car?0 -
Thanks again for all the input, its my parents by the way not grandparents. I really like the idea of the hoist in Mikey72's last post about the hoist, I hadn't thought of that. Plus I didn't know the Kango came in 4WD, I can't find anything about this, is it available as an automatic? My father is 90 and apart from his legs problem which knocked his confidence if in reasonable health, he just does not want to go out. Hopefully this will encourage him to start going out again.0

Well, it looks like the Kango is not available as 4x4 automatic and the Bongo/delicia type are too big so any more suggestions please?0
-
Depends on how much you want to spend.
The Kia sportage gets good reports, the Nissan Terrano/Ford Maverick was a nice car.0 -
In what way are they too big for them?
Too long? too wide? too tall?
Are you looking for something more like a Vauxhall Frontera or a Toyota RAV4, or would something like a Subaru Legacy Outback or Subaru Forester be more suitable?
For an automatic 4x4 you will likely have the most success with a Japanese vehicle, may also have to go for an import.
How about one of the import Nissan Cubes with the part time e-4WD system. I think it was available from 2002-2008. Edit: e-4WD is available on the later models too, possibly including UK models.
What model of power chair do they have as most of them are quite big, needing something Delica sized to fit.0
