Sky Help please?

Hi,

My Dad has Sky, the package thing with Sky TV, Broadband and Phone.

My Mum took this out when they were together about 8 years ago and it was in her name. She left and Dad continued to pay for Sky with his card details but left it in Mums name.

Now, whenever he needs to speak to Sky about problems or changing anything no one will speak to him because he isn't the account holder. He has explained the situation to them, and they just say they need Mum to call and change the name or cancel it.

So Mum phoned them yesterday (even though she now has a different surname) and they said all she can do is cancel the Sky and then Dad will have to open a new account in his name but will be without Sky for a month!

This seems such a long winded way of doing things... can't they simply change the name of the account holder?!

One person Dad spoke to at Sky told him to stop paying for it and start a new account in his name?!

Clearly sky has explained what needs to be done allready, you cannot simply change the name on a contract, the old contract needs to be ended and a new one started.

All you need is for the caller to have all the correct details and sound the same sex as the account holder.

The person on the other end of the phoneline can't see you.

Then gradually make the changes you want.
