Overlapping contracts

I have a contract with orange ending next month. My 30 days notice is next week. If I bought a phone on the orange network on phones4u before I end my main one next week, would there be problems?

The only problem you would have is you would lose your number. To switch to a different orange contract you either need to do it via an upgrade or by porting your number to a different network on a PAYG sim and then back again.
