I think you are definitely due a treat Bramble. Hope the trip goes as well as can be expected xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Back at work so a very quick update (apologies - I haven't read the thread today). Hubby has just been released from hospital. :D:D The IV antibiotics he had started to clear the infection up and they're happy for him to come home and have further antibiotics via pills. So pleased - he was sleeping really badly in hospital so getting very tired/down.

His antibiotics are likely to make him nauseous for the next five days so lots of very plain food for him I think. If anyone has any experience/tips for feeding someone who's feeling sick it would be much appreciated. My plan is things like plain grilled chicken breast with rice or potato. Simple buttered toast. Plain biscuits. Small portions throughout the day rather than one big evening meal.

Definitely little and often. I take Cyclizine as suffer very badly from nausea and sickness. I find carbohydrates much easier to tolerate and love a plain fairy cake as it is soft and easy to eat. As long as you keep fluids up and dont get dehydrated then he wont suffer too much. Another thought is Complan/ Ensure type drinks but they make me gag just thinking about them x

  • Molly41 that's what my DH keeps telling me...!!

And it would seem that is something I am doing well... Baby Roo is measuring long and healthy! But when you consider I used to work FT, juggle a family, childcare, housework, and walk 5 miles a day... and now I sit and stare at walls, because TV makes me dizzy and so does anything else if done for more then ahalf an hour (The Low BP causes Vertigo and Eye problems so I get dizzy easily), well i'm feeling sorry for myself today... but I will have to snap out of it and be grateful for what I have :)

So I called up my vicor and discussed the Christening, he knows my diary is a nightmare so was willing to discuss dates with me early! Maybe I can get him to agree to let DS serve that day too... it would be wonderful!

For those who said my DH sounds wonderful, he is... not many men do ALL the housework and work FT and set aside everything to look after a wife who can't do anything. I was very lucky the day I found him :)
I'm lucky enough to have a DH like that, too.:A He does all the jobs I can't manage anymore, plus the ones I can when I'm having a particularly bad day.... and with me, it's a permanent thing, as this illness isn't going to go away. Like you, I get very frustrated at having to sit and take it easy, but hey, once you've had the baby, you'll hopefully get your BP back to normal, and be back on top of things.:o

Ooh, poor man.:( I sympathise; I get frequent bouts of nausea - deffo "little and often" with food, and I find plain toast, or a plain cream cracker helps if I'm feeling very sick, and also peppermint tea. I imagine chicken and rice would be easy to digest; (I don't eat chicken myself, as I'm veggie, but they always recommend chicken soup for the ailing, as I recall);) I wish you and your DH well, and hope the anti-b's do him a world of good.:o

Molly:wave: how's wee Poppy doing? I'm suffering badly with anxiety, too, keep worrying over silly things, and if I'm not worrying over something specific, I worry that I've overlooked something I should be worrying about.:(

    Er.... what else was there?....
    Oh yes.... Hoppy Birdday Zippychick:bdaycake:

  • LameWolf your husband also sounds a saint. I am sorry you're suffering too, my mum is like you (and I normally help her as much as I can as my Dad works) she can do so little. Permanent illnesses are so difficult to cope with for the whole family.

Yes, I am lucky as it is very rare for Low BP to be an issue after the baby is born, and with DH new job starting at the same time as we're due he won't be home much... so I need to get better :)

You just made me realise I forgot to be grateful for what I have :o

    Thanks LW x

But you are not just doing anything - you are growing a baby and that is the most important job anyone can do.

Couldn't agree more with this. We don't have any mini Teapots yet but when a friend was pregnant she said she had never known how exhausted pregnant women felt. Then she said that she stopped and thought about it and figured that her body was growing a whole new person. It's going to take it out of you. :)

Thanks for the tips LameWolf and molly41 :)

Dizziness seems to be a recurring theme today.

I decided to get on with the stripping in our kitchen as it has been hold for a couple of weeks since DH tore the ligaments in his foot and can't get up the ladder (I too have a wonderful hubby we are a lucky lot)

Anyway up the ladder I went but as I am little, even the top step was not quite high enough to reach the top of the wall. I know that my vertigo kicks in the minute I look up like that but totally forgot got really dizzy and managed to fall off the ladder and cut my thumb and finger on the stripper:eek: I am ok otherwise just a bit bruised.

Think I will leave it to the expert in future who has come home and told me off for going up the ladder:cool:

    Afternoon everybody,

Grocery shopping this morning, think we got enough food to see us through for about 10 days, can't seem to get ahead with emptying the freezer, but determined to do it this month. Got a pineapple for €.99 so will chop it up and spoil myself over next couple of days, also some Sharon fruit ( caci) which I love.

OH is cooking dinner....something like stuffed peppers with wedges I think, will take him all day, not sure why but will not dare to ask! He obviously dropped a raw potato on the floor in the kitchen, Mossy snaffled it and was chewing away here beside me....I know that he and Kerry love potatoes but raw??

    Have a great day Zippy.

    Nic1...congratulations, enjoy the ride.

Taplady...take it easy, sounds as if your shifts are very long....is that legal??

JulieG....try to relax...you are well really so try to emphasise that to yourself....not easy I know.

Beth....do try to take it easier, if you are still losing weight you are doing too much.

JackieO....glad that test was better yesterday, also that all necessary checks on your health are being done.

Planning on knitting for rest of day....knitting for grand-daughters for 25th Dec...2 lots have to be posted to London, so doing them first.

Bramble....try to enjoy to-night and make the most of your visit to g'dad...honestly you are safer flying than in a car.

Know that there is a newbie here somewhere, hello and welcome.

Hugs to all in need or want, stay safe.
