:eek:Daily Thread for Thurs 3rd Nov
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thurs 3rd Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Been lurking for an hour so decided to start fred, hope this is OK. DS1 woke up early this morning - so I'll have a nap later! Clutter cleared 3 rooms yesterday - will have to continue with this theme and do another room today. Will dive into freezer later and see what I pull out for tea, then will clear out fire and get another one lit to keep us warm. Have to admit to heating going on yesterday - not so much for warmth just to get rid of the condensation.
Bramble - stay strong and lots of hugs for you. Going to be a tough time for you, xxxx
Jackie G - Congratulations to Mr JG and thank you (on behalf of all of us!) for offering Bramble a shoulder and a coffee, sounds like she could do with it. xxxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). morning all,
sorry i haven't caught up with thread so ((hugs)) to bramble and jackie g's hubby
Its absolutely lashing it down, outside, puddle dodging to get milk wouldn't mind it but i forgot to put my wellies on doh.
Not sure of the plan today apart from more business stuff and collecting a parcel from the post office. OH and sort out insurance and finestwo things i hate doing.
Going to make a big pan of soup today with a gammon shank. So that should do us nicely for a fair while.
Right going to make a cuppa and hurry up coddy..0 -
Morning!
I took yesterday much slower and I am feeling a little better today. I tried to get a Dr's appt but within 10 minutes they had all gone!!! So today I am going to drive to the surgery and try and book one before the phone lines open.
Today I am planning on doing as little as possible, as I have to drive and collect something this afternoon and I know it will wipe me out so i'm going to reserve all energies I think.
DS9 had his first swimming lesson last night (paid for by mum) and did really well, I knew he could swim, he's just won't do it for me! He's sitting and reading again, he's got his head stuck in Harry Potter 3, and I won't see him for the best part of an hour, at which point he will complain about school getting in the way of reading time!
Sorry for not responding to messages on the thread as they happen, but I am only coming online once a day. For those who said my DH sounds wonderful, he is... not many men do ALL the housework and work FT and set aside everything to look after a wife who can't do anything. I was very lucky the day I found him
Butterfly Brain I read about the salt too... but I have cravings for salt and seem to add it to most anything, but the BP still seems to be going down slowly month on month! I mean my MIL saw how much salt I put on my dinner the other day and her eyes nearly popped out of her head! I think that the body knows what it needs so you just have to listen... Mine needs cauliflower cheese most days
Anyway, I better be off to get ready to get that Dr's appt. Not that it'll help now i'm feeling moderatly better, because my BP will be higher then it was when I was poorly! Doh!
Have a wonderful day everyone x

Damp but not actually raining here, WM to go on, bet clothes will be on airer though. Got bills to pay, then running up Christmas presents on sewing machine, which I've finally dusted down. Sloe gin to make, something quick for tea as it's WI tonight - we're doing lino cuts to make Christmas cards.
Have a good day, folks, hugs and kisses to those who want them.

Morning all
What a start to the morning, I dropped hubby at the station, went to put petrol in the car, hubby phoned, he'd left his wallet on the side, drove home, collected his wallet, dropped it off with him, drove home (through 2 lots of road works, AARRGGH, & breath. Fish fed, breakfast will be taken to work along with some pain killers to take for my neck which has seized up, this is connected to me waking up every morning with tooth ache as I sleep with gritted teeth, stressed, moi? never, lol.
Work is a nightmare, all my machines are way past their sell by date & keep breaking down, the caretaker's aren't moving my paper when they should so I'm lugging 15kl boxes about, AARRGGH, & breath.
Pasta bake for tea tonight, I'm still stretching Sunday's joint.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

JackieG congratulations to your OH I bet your buzzing at the moment
Bramble1 sorry your having such a tough time at the moment <<hug>> to you
School run this morning only as DD is off, but she has to drop her car into the garage to have some work done on it as it failed its MOT,fingers crossed it won't cost too much.
Its a very damp mizzle at the moment and the forecast is heavy rain later so today will be a baking day plus I am going to make a vat of HM leek & tattie soup.
CT scan went a lot better last night as I didn't have the dye injection so I was in and out fairly quickly.I have to go back to the breast-care clinic next Monday,Hopefully they will tell me what's causing my cough. Then the next appointment after that is on 16th for an echocardiogram. Then another one at the end of the month to the chest clinic.I think I shall take up residence there at this rate.I know its lots of necessary tests ,but I'll be glad when they find out and sort it all out.Well time to get a move on
have a good day everyone no matter what you are doing
Cheers Chums
