Dial up access on laptop in different locations

Hi All.
I have a question about dial up access from a laptop, which will be used in several locations down different phone lines.
I am trying to find the best deal for unlimited dial up access, however the phone lines that it will be dialling through will be a mix of BT and Telewest. Is there a difference between accessing the two types of phone lines, and will I have to bear this in mind when looking for the best dial up deal?
Will the change in phone lines also affect when it comes to sign up for the dial up deal, in that they will want you to give one number (to allocate the unlimited dial up access from) rather than doing it on a per computer basis?
Sorry to ask some basic questions, but it's my fiance's laptop, and as I'm used to having a laptop from work which is set up for mobile working, I'm not used to having to think about all of these things!
Thanks in advance,
Throwa

In my experience, albiet its been a long time since I have used dialup internet access. Some providers do restrict the access to the service by limiting to one telephone number i.e. the one that you provide you when you sign up. So in your case this may cause a problem, i dont know if this is still the case, as i says its been a while since Ive used dialup internet. In answer to your other question the access is in no way restricted to your computer.

Aol have different phone numbers for each line provider, but they are a piece of cake to change before you dial up.0

yeh..i've got the idea AOL allow dial up from multiple locations..my brother used to have it and I'm sure he dialled in from home and his son dialled in from his flat..Ex forum ambassador

As far as I know (and use), AOL is the only unmeterd dial up that wouldn't require access from a single number and would allow use from different phone providers.0
