Basically, you are entitled to a free update if you have purchased your unit after September 2006. The latest maps are version 9 and Garmin will send you an unlock code followed by the DVD with the whole of Europe on it.

Hi, If you PM me with your email address I'll send you a copy of email and some Pdf instructions on how to update your unit by ordering a cd and an unlock code which I received from Garmin last week. HTH. Alan.

Well I wouldn't like to particularly point out to a relitavely new member such as yourself, but the suggested search was done.... as well as a search for "streetpilot", "street pilot", "garmin", "carphonewarehouse", "carphone warehouse", "car phone warehouse" but turned nothing up.

Have a look at this exceptionally lengthy thread, then... (Assuming you have got nowhere over the past 2½ months!)

I ordered the update DVD from Garmin months ago but it is still yet to arrive

Mine came in five days, about three months ago, so I suggest you chase their customer services, who are usually surprisingly good.

Hello All,

Sorry to be terribly blonde but i have the same problem! I have a Garmin nuvi, i use it weekly more or less but today came up with the message maps are a year old..Do i pay for these on the net or off the saite? bought it approx june/july 2007..we are in the process of looking for the box now!

Its my life line i really need it i have no sense of direction!!!

Anybody help me?
