Non Fixed Term ISA Maturity - When?

Can someone tell me when a non-fixed term ISA matures and interest is paid into it please? Is it at the end of the current financial year?
Also, say you start out with the full saving amount of £5340. You withdraw £1000 in month 6 and the rest in month 8. Does this mean you will have earned interest on £5340 for 6 months and £4340 for 2 months and 0 interest for the rest of the financial year?
