Debt company asking for proof of adress

Hi to anybody that can help me please...

I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I would really appreciate. It. I am applying for a house soon :j however after looking at my credit file there is a default of a arrow global company. I send the template letter saying i do not Acknowledge the debt and asked them to prove it or remove it.

The other day i have now had a letter of them to which they have replied to me with a letter asking me to verify my address with 2 forms of ID as the address i gave does not match their address they have for me. As you can imagine i do not want to send them this but wanted to know your advise. Is it best to send it them in the hope they will remove it or will they use this somehow?

Very sorry for the long message but any helps great !

if its your debt then no mortgage, if its not your debt provide the proof and get it removed.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If their records do not match you then it is more likely not to be your debt? Do you recognise the debt?

If you don't think it is yours, don't send proof of ID - next thing you know, you will find this forming part of the evidence that the debt is yours.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • do not provide them with any I this is how the company will pin it on you
you asked them for evidence then its their job to prove it is your debt

send them the template again and tell them they have 28 days to provide you with the documentation you requested.

you are under NO legal obligation to send them any id if they persist take the letters to either trading standards or citizans advice

On your credit report, is the defaulted arrow global account showing as registered against your current address?

If so, I don't understand their request for you to prove your address.

If it's registered against a former address then your file links them, so again ... I don't understand their request for you to prove your address.

Unless they're looking for a document with your signature on it...
  • Hi fatbelly,

thanks for the responce guys, on my credit report the defulated arrow global account shows up to a diffrent adress top my current adress.

i thought they may be wanting a document with signature on aswell.

its only £300 but is causing me lots of distress. has anybody got a letter template i can send as my next letter? if the next letter didnt work should i send one saying i do not acknowledge the debt but as i am trying to get a house i will pay it of if they remove the defualt. i would prefer not to pay these guys but i am running out of time.

thanks again guys and girls !

    so this is your debt?

your kind of not wanting to tell us if this is right...

to be honest, you should try and pay that, lying to them may come back to bite you later.

If it is not your debt, ask them to prove it is you.. (if it isnt yours then they can't)

  • Do not trust Arrow Global, I recently queried a debt and was told over the phone that for me to see the original credit agreement and details of it I would need to send them a signed letter stating I agree to them requesting a copy????? surely if the debt was taken over by them then they would have that agreement?? I am now under the impression that perhaps they chase unresolved debts first then when cost effective and convenient suddenly decide that it belongs to them ( a bit like a programme I saw about inheritence hunters , whoever finds first claims a cut of the money) they have twice failed to appear at the court dates sent by themselves because from the start I have not admitted to the debt belonging to me or made any sort of payment which i will continue to do until I see the full details and original signed copy of the debt !!!!! I know its not the same but I hope it helps sort of xx

    Dear <insert name>

I refer to your recent correspondence regarding a debt of <insert amount> registered on my credit report. I do not recognise this debt and I strongly resent the implication of your unwarranted intrusion into my affairs. I am not obliged to prove any particulars to you and in fact it is incumbent upon you to prove the debt belongs to me. Since you have stated that the address you have on file does not match my address, then I would say that this is strong evidence that your records are correct and that you have the wrong person. Please remove the default from my credit report immediately or I will be forced to make an official complaint to the Office of Fair Trading, with whose regulations you are obliged to comply. If however, you dispute the facts of this case and are convinced that this debt belongs to me, you will of course be able to provide satisfactory evidence to that effect which will comply with current guidlines. This will of course include a credit agreement bearing my signature or some other such evidence. Until that time, I deem your communication to be tantamount to harrassment and you will cease this activity immediately.

    Kind Regards
