Engineer Not Sending Vaillant Boiler Warranty Paperwork

Had a new boiler/central heating system done beg September. We paid a bit extra to extend warranty to 5 years. At the time we took it out Vaillant only did a 2 year warranty(they are offering this as standard at the moment). Engineer told me he would send off the paperwork for the warranty and I would receive a certificate…

Is it possible he got the boiler on the cheap from somewhere not so official and therefore is unable to send off the warrenty as it may flag up that the boiler is part of a stollen batch or somthing along those lines?
