You are correct and they are wrong but if a silly mistake like that seriously puts you off buying something than I do think you are being pedantic, there are bigger issues in life.............Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

this guys a make believer, belives hes a tax law specialist whilst he start up his own tree felling buisiness and drainage and this bloke wants to buy a small hatch with low powered engine to use as his main buisiness asset, yeh says all in his name but the low return part will be non existant.
seen a couple of posts now where youve made a point of bringing benefits into things that simply dont need to be there.
OP as you can see youve touched a few nerves with this thread. if you depend on your car as your livley hood then your better off keeping the alchohol for nights when your not going to drive early the next day. you can easily wake up fine feeling good, but still over the limit to impare your judgement and driving abilities.
i seen a bbc documentary of traffic cops where they pulled this guy like 1pm in the afternoon because intelligance said he had no insurance, they watched him, followed him, they pulled him he did have insurance but they queried his driving skills breath tested him and was over the limit from a few drinks the night before, so not only did 6 points turn out to be a 18 months ban he had a hefty fine to go with.
forget the drink for a few days, if your craving booz still then seek help before you and the person you hit become a statistic.0 -
I have an Alcosense Elite which is supposedly one of the best breathalyzers on the market. Obviously they can't be used in your defense if you are pulled over by the police, but in my experience, the breathalyzer has proved incredibly useful! I've also got the Alcosense One which, when tested alongside the more expensive Elite model gives roughly the same results. Anything that costs £4.99 is more than likely to be absolutely useless; there's a reason why these things retail at £50 and over usually.
I bought my breathalyzer partly out of curiosity and partly because I was invited to a wedding in a very remote hotel which booted guests out at 10am so wanted to be sure I was legal to drive! As others have said though, if you're worried about your sobriety, you shouldn't be driving. Not harsh, just honest. Better safe than sorry eh.0 -
!!!!ing hell I only drink once a fortnight!
According to some of you I'm an alcoholic that is going to kill someone - I suppose I'm a !!!!! terrorist next0 -

Thanks, one of the few sensible replies.
I don't intend to drive over the limit, I just would like an indication just to make a decision and to satisfy my curiosity!0 -
If you doubt that you may be sober enough to drive, then you aren't sober enough to drive.
End of.Then you obviously have more problems than just the possibility of being over the limit.
Like I said your logic doesn't follow.
How about: I reckon I must be sober enough to drive, therefore I am sober enough to drive.0 -

I must confess, I've used it after a hefty boozy night, before going to bed just to see what the ol' blood/alcohol level is. Quite an eye-opener it was ...I've also been quite shocked to find that, according to the breathalyzer, I've been 'legal' to drive, but can barely negotiate my way around my own house let alone control a vehicle. But, I tend to feel the effects of a single alcoholic drink ...
