Last week I got a call from the EA to say we had someone interested in coming to see our house, she asked me if friday was a good time, I told her yes. Friday morning arrived and there was another call from the agent saying the guy couldnt make it and could he come next friday at 7pm (this friday coming) again I said yes.
Got up this morning to see our electricity company had put a thing through our door saying they were going to be doing work on friday and that they had to turn our electricity off from 9am-6pm. The last time they did this (and the previous time before that as well) we didnt get our electricity back until the following morning.
I called our EA to see if they could let the guy know that we may or may not have electricity when he gets here and if we do not have electricity then he would be viewing with a torch so would we be able to arrange the viewing for another day as I didnt want him to get here and the house be pitch black.
EA called the guy then called me back just now, she said the guy had gone absolutely mental down the phone to her and that we are nothing but time wasting idiots (?) apparently we made him take friday off work (he told us he was available friday!) and he has now lost a day due to us messing him around. He told our EA to tell us not to worry as he has already been to see the house over the road from us twice and will be offering on that one now instead, he then put the phone down.
This is the first time I have had a house on the market, was what I did wrong? I just didnt want him to get here with the house in darkness.
So I know for the future, if a viewer wants to come are we not allowed to cancel or try to arrange a better time if something comes up? It has now been noted that viewings in the dark are obviously ok lol..

I think you got lucky there he would have been a nightmare to deal with!0

I'd be glad I didn't have to deal with him if I were you, he sounds like a right pain.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Whata complete plonker.
I would not however be surprised you do not have all the story. Like someone at the EA forgot to arrange the first meeting, so told the client it was not possible and so he thinks you "cancelled" both viewing? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
If he was like that when you let him know in advance, imagine what he would have been like had he turned up on the day to find no light in the house.0

You're better off without a byer like that! Can you imagine what it'd be like if he had made an offer on your house.....0

Yes - it's up to the EA to manage the relationship with the viewer, and it sounds like they've done a terrible job of it. The viewer wouldn't get annoyed without reason. It really sounds like the EA has bodged up and just told you a very slanted story about how unreasonable your potential buyer was.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

I am not sure who is worse: the EA for telling you what the &rsey viewer said.0 -
Virtually word for word what I would say. The following needs looking at:You just got lucky that you didn't have to deal with this idiot.
