SensorMate iBin - iLocal Furniture

sorry i havent updated for a while, just to let you know that the iLocal people weren't hard to get a refund from, they picked up the bin on the day they said and groupon refunded the £49 shortly after. This was done weeks ago, I just forgot to post about it.0

Yes, I too had a long delay in getting delivery of this bin. When it arrive it had dimples in the metal of the lid.I emailed the supplier who phoned me the same day to arrange a free replacement. All done without a hitch.
My bin is fine. Some people complain that the bin has no inner bucket but I don't believe we were promised one. Someone has complained that the bin liner overhangs the outside of the bin when used with the retaining ring. Not if you fold the top over so it's inside the bin.
The bin is going to prove rather battery heavy I suspect! Also not sure how long it will continue to open automatically as the lid does not appear very robust. Time will tell!0 -
I received my iBin after weeks and weeks of waiting only to find it stopped working after 3 days, like many of you above have mentioned it randomly decided to open and close when it felt. I thought the batteries had died after 3 days which is strange (they were given by iLocal Furniture in response to the delay with some black sacks).
I have used countless batteries. To be honest I was expecting a flash new bin but it has turned out to be pathetic in quality. A flimsy plastic-ky lid that if you drop something on it no doubt itll snap into pieces. The ring to hold the black bag is useless and causes much faff-ing around trying to hold the black sack.
Overall its poor in quality, I have contacted ILocal Furniture ten times by phone with not one response and 3 times by email and guess what no response.
I am now trying Groupon - I thought they dealt with reputable companies - I feel like such a mug......as someone said above......I wish I had just bought a Brabantia - no fancy lid - but the quality is outstanding in comparison to this tatty bin!
Refund please! Did anyone get a refund or have any useful contact details??0 -
I too am one of the many that bought this bin.
Firstly i must say that i have bought lots from Groupon and mostly all is fine. I think the trouble here is companies saying they can service a large number of customers when in all honesty they clearly cannot.
I do not lay blame with Groupon but with the obviously rogue company I Local - whos website is now completely closed!!!
My bin no longer works - the lid is stuck, it smells all the time and i cannot wash it thoroughly enough because of the batteries.
I will still buy lots more from Groupon - i recently purchased some Treadz which are amazing and the local deals are usually pretty great - as long as you read the fine print.
But i will certainly beware of businesses like i Local - i hope they have got in trouble for their clear dishonesty.:mad:0 -
