I have just set up my bin, its great! I don't have any problems with it... Its a little bit fiddly to get the bin liner in the right position but you have the same problem with any bin.
It came with batteries and some bin liners thrown in.
Took so long to come I thought it never would, but still happy with it.0 -
recieved this message today from groupon -
We have important information for those of you yet to receive your Groupons for this deal.
Unfortunately, delivery for this deal is slightly delayed. We have been in close cooperation with the partner and can assure you that all products should be delivered by Friday 2nd December 2011. In the meantime we’d like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your patience.0 -
ilocal and Groupon ....... Biggest bunch of Shysters and Crooks I have ever come across....
Lies, Lies and more lies.... Requested my money back, let's see what happens !!0 -
just an update after my refund request. The man from ilocal had called and left a message, my wife called him back and he seemed happy to arrange a refund. I'll let you know how it goes. In the meantime, we have today bought a brabantia 50L touch bin from Robert Dyas for £54 in store(£59 on the web), quite a good deal I think as some sites still sell it for £100.0

So after 9 weeks or so I finally received the bin.
There's no way this is a £119 bin. It's definitely fun yes, but my bin lid opens randomly all the time. Every 5 minutes or so the lid activates for no reason, day or night, with no moving objects nearby.
It states it's 50ltrs but it's a very thin bin. Also there theres' no liner as previously posted so the bin liner has to hang over the bin making it look a little tatty.
I'll never use Groupon, nor iLocal Furniture. Both took over a month to respond to my 8 polite emails.
I bought some lights via Groupon that said to expect delivery in 3 weeks. It took 14 weeks!!!
So no, pardon the pun but it's all a bit rubbish.0 -
My bin also arrived yesterday and had "phantom" openings throughout the day. It was quite amusing at first, but have since contacted iLocal to request a refund. £119??? I smell something a bit off here.
That aside, I have used Groupon many other times with no problems. It's been fantastic for city deals around Glasgow for trying out new restaurants, and I believe we are one of the few who stuck it lucky with a "5 star holiday" which really was, luxurious!0 -
Well like everyone else waited over 2 months. Got the emails after complaining to groupon. Bin arrived and after 2 days of opening and closing everytime some walked by it gave up the ghost and is now stuck open like someone else said. Emailed and got a missed call from Mr Nicholas Nicola who asked me to call. Since then no answer and left many messages on the 0845 number. Also several emails but still not reply. Will advise groupon but seems they are inundated.
Will never use groupon for goods again as something else I ordered was cheap and nasty and basically seconds and the same problem contacting the 'company'. They are a front for market good. Set up a webpage and fleece people.
Let us know if anyone does get a refund. I'm fighting it all the way.0 -
I received my ibin which was scratched and dented so I returned it as per the returns policy at a cost of £14.25! and requested a replacement.
A representative called me the same day and advised that they would have actually collected the ibin and delivered a replacement with no p & p charges.
I received my replacement ibin which was also dented and I have concluded that the metal is extremely cheap & thin which is why damage is occurring.
I have emailed iLocal furniture again & await a call. After reading the posts on here I am definately going to request a refund.
This has been a total sham, the ibins are not available to buy on the web site now & the company have held onto our money for a long time.
Has anyone actually received a refund as of yet.0 -
I've still not received my i bin and there's nobody replying to my emails or answering my phone calls. Tried email groupon and am awaiting a response. I think I might see if I can get my money back now though after reading about the quality of the product.... very disappointed.0

I HAVE SECURED A REFUND!!
After reading the posts here and given up on i local contacting me I emailed Groupon to say the item was unsatisfactory, especially as it broke within 2 days. They offered me a refund and have confirmed I will have this is 5 days. Ok so we are not home and dry yet but it's looking good!
I pointed out there must be several hundred unhappy customers and that I would not be buying through Groupon again. The reply and promise for a refund due to the amount of problems with this purchase was done and dusted within the evening.
So a lesson learnt (I will never buy goods through Groupon again) 7 quid out of pocket for P&P and the proud owner of one broken flimsy bin!
Good luck to everyone else getting their money back and don't waste time and money calling i local. Go straight to Groupon.0
