SensorMate iBin - iLocal Furniture

Did anyone else order one of these on groupon in september?

I ordered the groupon, went to the website ordered the bin, waited for over a month now and still no bin... website is offline too :(

Anyone got any ideas?

  • No-one replied...but i just received this email from iLocal if anyone is interested...

    "Dear Customers

    I have just come out of a meeting now regarding delivery of Sensormate Ibin Dustbins, and unfortunately we have had a delay of an extra week to delivery of the Bins! Unfortunately this is out of our control due to delays caused by adverse weather conditions in freight transportation.

    Our Deadline for Delivery was the 18th November but unfortunately we are now looking at the 25th as a deadline.

    As a gesture of goodwill and way of apology we will be including free Batteries for every dustbin aswell as a free roll of Bin Liners, so you will be able to use your iBin as soons as its delivered!

    We can assure you this is not how we like our deliveries to work, as we do not recieve any payment from Groupon until bins have been delivered to you the customer! So as you can understand this is also very frustrating to us as we have paid for all bins in advance and to have this tied up for an extra period is not helping us in the slightest!

    We SINCERELY APOLOGISE and hope that you will enjoy the Sensormate ibins when it arrives to you!

  • Strangely earlier today I emailed Groupon as I was a little concerned that the bins hadn't arrived and that the iLocal furniture website was unobtainable. Then just now I received the same email as yourself (which has obvioulsy been sent to everyone). Not sure how they say a date of 18th November was the due delivery date. When they were ordered on 28th September, it stated between 4-6 weeks. I make that between 26th October to 9th November. Hopefully all is well .........

  • Very interesting. I have not emailed Groupon and neither have I received an email outlining the delay. What has happened is that the i local website seems to have come back to life!
  • I just received this...I wonder if it was sent to every groupon customer who hasn't complained too?! There's some nice copy and pasting going on, and lots of fantastic spelling....

  • I got this an hour ago(after 2 months), dont hold your breath people. The product is useless, besides the fact that mine doesn't work(the lid never closes), the whole thing feels cheap. There is no inside bucket by the way(which i know they did not specify, but if its real price is meant to b £110????) . So just a really thin sheet of steel with a lid that doesn't work.
    On another note, the delivery of the product itself is bad, everything inside is damp so i had to wipe it dry first and there are even spots of mould on the inside sticker.
    Anyway i've called groupon, who said try the company directly(ilocal furniture) first and if they dont deal with it in 7 days, groupon will escalate apparently... somehow i'm skeptical, both companies seem shady imho and needless to say, it's be first and will be my last dealing with groupon.
    Shockingly(sarcastic) the ilocal whoever dont even have a phone number, just a web form . anyway I have submitted my refund request to them(not expecting anything back tbh) to get the(long) process started.
    Worst part is that I saw a brabantia 40L brabantia in a Robert Dyas a month ago for £49.... live and learn I suppose...
  • Thanks for the update, bit gutted its rubbish tbh! I thought after all this hassle it would actually be worth it. Anyway, I will wait until mine arrives.
  • i have ordered two of these bins. Nine weeks with my money!
    I am really fed up trying to get information from groupon / i local furniture.
    I reall would like to cancel the order but not sure if i wll ever see my money / and or the bins i ordered on 23rd September!
  • I've been told today my bin is delivered so I will take a look at it tonight and see what its like...i'll post later.

    I would have thought your two bins will be here pretty soon...
  • I have been advised that stock is arriving tomorrow and that my 2 bins will be delivered within 7 days with the carrier contacting me to arrange a delivery time.

    Lets see!
