Yes it is cheap. Thats roughly a £700 job. So you are getting 20% off. What did you expect £ 50?

    Cheers

Theres approx £80 - £ 100 worth of adhesive and grout in that lot at retail. £ 75 a day will be effectively for free. That will barely cover his business costs.

25 quid per m is a good average price for tiling.
    (inc the adhesive and grout).

Unless you live in London in which case you could almost double that.

Why do people keep going on about £m2 rate? If the porcs are large or highly polished or need sealing then the rate would be more. It maddens me as a professional to hear people keep harping on about it.
If I did the same area in large format porcs and the same again in smaller ones then the price would be different. It comes down to factors such as area to be tiled, awkwardness or shape of area, level and several other factors. So when people phone me and ask for a quote £m2 over the phone I tell them that I don't and won't quote that way. They are welcome to phone a mug instead.
Bottom line is if you are happy with the workmanship you are getting then the price is a small factor. (If laid properly the tiles will not only outlast any carpet you would lay in a room that size, they should still be there when you are gone).

You are absolutely right for ceramics but he is equally right for porc. An average price for porc or natural stone is around £35/m^2. My indicatory price above was based on a mix of the two and a little bit of wet finger based on the OPs measurements. So now I can retire to wipe that annoying self satisfied grin off my smug face. :D
