May have not made it clear enough i know what the correct oil was and also that the correct oil had been used as i had a receipt with other stuff when i purchased the car. Like i said i named the correct oil type just didn't know the grade of the top of my head also the dealer said all this before the car was even checked by them the reason i mentioned it was that it was brought up before it had been checked by them so i was worried they where looking for a loop hole before it had even been checked. Just back from the dealer where cost's where a lot lower than expected due to the fact the problem was to do with the recall and not the oi under 200 pounds so i am more than happy was worried it would be 4 times thatl. Was well happy with the job done and cost but if anybody has a BMW 1 series it's worth phoning to check your not due for a recall. Cheers for the response

glad to hear it was reasonable - anyone with a 1 series should get the letter if there is one (for example the diesels have a recall reight now for the facelift model) - now you're the registered keeper you'll get them from now on...
