Giffgaff for Iphone 3GS?
Hi, please excuse my tech ignorance here as just got a s/h 3GS handset and looking for sim only deal. Tesco do a £12.50 deal but the same deal for Iphone is £15 as it includes BT openzone wi-fi, which Tesco say you need for an Iphone even when it has 500mb of data allowance on the deal. I also looked at Giffgaff deal which has unlimited data. Do I really need wi-fi with an Iphone or would the Giffgaff sim be ok? Cheers.

Hi, cheers for that. I have already sent off for the sim so am a bit late for using your link. The handset is factory unlocked so no problems there. Having read a bit more I think I can just queue the goodybags so I don't go onto billed mins etc. Is the BT openzone just there (with Tesco Iphone sim) for if you lose your network signal, and hence internet/data connection then? If that is the only reason for the extra £2.50 a month to have an 'Iphone sim' with the same mins/texts/data then it doesn't seem worth it. And why do they only do an'Iphone sim' and not for any other smart phone cos they all use data?0

hi yes you can queue goodybags, but only one ahead and you will lose any remaining minutes left at the end of that month period,im guessing yes the bt openzone is only there for a backup(but can only be used in bt openzone hotspots) but to be honest ive never losed signal with giffgaff, they only do a iphone sims because iphones are the most popular and probally uses more data than any other smart phone, also iphone 4 uses micro sims, maybe thats the reason, what i would do is try giffgaff as it is only £10 for a month with no contract and if it isnt for you then try another option, nothing lose0
