    Hi peeps

Can someone tell me where I went wrong with my muffins?

I took them out the oven and left them for 5 mins to cool down, but when I tried to take them out the tray they were stuck to the bottom.

I used an ovenproof rubber muffin tray.

    Thanks

Hi 10past6 - sorry if this is a silly question but did you grease the tray before you started?

    Hi peeps

Can someone tell me how do I cook rice, I want to cook for 2 people, I've looked at the instructions but it just gives the weight for cooking, I'm not sure how many people that means.

I also have some frozen sliced mushrooms, can I use them in the rice?

I would use butter/ marge to grease the baking tray

I cook between 75g-100g rice per person but some people measure their rice out using a mug which is prob easier. 1/2 a mug of rice for two people and use 1 mug of water to cook it.

As I'm trying to lose weight, would it be OK to use 1 cal, or do I have to use butter / marg?

How long do I cook the rice for?

I think the 1 cal stuff would work - I saw somebody suggesting it recently on this thread, or another one on here.

I use sunflower oil and I apply it with a piece of kitchen roll. However I reckon soft marge is best of all, as the consistency means it adheres to the tray rather than forming droplets. You really only need a
very thin layer of it, so it shouldn't ruin your weight loss plan.

Alternatively if finances permit you could buy paper cases - they're not very expensive, and then you don't need to grease at all.

I think you could use either, myself, but I'm not convinced 1 cal would save you many calories. You only do a thin smear of whatever you use, and you might find you have to do a squirt for each bun case just to spread it far enough, IYSWIM.

But I'm confused, you say you used a rubber ovenproof bun tin - do you mean silicone? I didn't think they needed greasing, except perhaps the first time used. Was it the first time used?

Does the packet not say that either? I'd say 20 minutes for rice (and before you ask, 10 for pasta! Although I think you might have mastered pasta the other day, no? :rotfl:)

I dont see why not. but as Bargain Rzl says, paper cases would be the best thing to eliminate the need for fat.

It depends on the rice. I do long grain rice for about 15-20 mins and basmati rice for 10mins.

OK, I'll try that next time, I think for now I'll leave the case and see what happens the next time I cook.

    Thanks for your advice.
