Moving home - need advice please!

Hi,

We're moving house in about 4 weeks from now - we currently have telephone and broadband via cable from Virgin Media, but the house we're moving to is in a non-cabled area, so we cannot take the same services with us. The address when searched says our speed will be between 2-8mb but the current owners says they average about 5.5mb

I'm looking at options for a new phone line and unlimited broadband (as my partner works from home we need the 'unlimited' option) and we also need to be connected as soon as possible. We also have a lot of devices which connect to the internet - several laptops, gaming devices and smart phones etc.

We're resigned to having to have a new phone number although we're on the same exchange as the house we're moving to, but it's all far too complicated and we'll end up being without services for about a week if we try to take our current phone number (according to BT anyway).

Bearing in mind that we're more than likely going to be taking Sky TV at the new house (if that makes a difference), can anybody recommend the best package or combination of services for us including telephone line/calls and the best broadband package?

Thanks in advance

  • sky tv...

    1/2 line rental for 12mth
free broadband unlim for 3 mths
    free movies for 2 mths
and a free install when taking HD

best deal I know of at the moment:)
  • Can you have a look and find out which exchange you'll be connected to?

Use www.samknows.com and the availability checker, then put your postcode in and it will tell you (some towns have more than one exchange/the one you're connected to isn't necessarily the obvious one)

That dictates what you can have. Sky is well thought of if it's the LLU service. To see if that's available click the xDSL LLU tab in the results and look for "Sky/Easynet - Yes".
