Hoping they speed mine through too, applied in the post office on the 19th. Got my old one back this morning with a note that my new one will be sent soon. Sounds promising at least0

Did you get the new ones with the chip inside them.0

Yeah it has got the chip, don't think it's possible to get one without anymore.0

Passports are so dear because of illegal people in this country getting ones made for them. It sicken me. That are country is going down the drain because of all these people from other poor countries. I dont want my children to be worst of because of these people coming into this country just because we pay into our system. rant over.0

Got mine back in 4 working days.
And here's a tip, if you're going for a renewal then don't bother with check and send as it's no faster (as told to me by a post office employee no less). Saved me £70 -

Please tell me you're not serious... what an ignorant post!0 -
The passport i sent for was a first adult one,and i think its safer to do it through check and send no matter whether its a first or not.I dont condone the price they charge for check and send, but based on royal mails hit or miss service i opted for the safest method.0

Over the last few months i have ordered 3 first passports for my family. All have had a maximum of 3 week turn around. Did not use the post office service and all have processed without a hitch. I heared bad things about the service so tried without - glad i did, saved me a bit!0

if only it wasnt so dear (£66 plus £3 for documents to be sent back) just to simply change your name
( when there's another 9 and a bit years left on the current one!
