Finally at last the stove is in!!..pics...

At long last it's in and worth every hard earned penny, it seems like forever ago that I came on here and asked for advice about getting a stove, I bit the bullet and bought the Aga little wenlock, it's been sitting on a pallet in my lounge since then.

So taking some advice from you guys, I had the chimney swept and tested, thankfully no need for a flue, & had the Hetas man make & fit the plate thing in the top with a hatch for sweeping, he also fitted my Hearth & of course the stove...& he put some air vents in the lounge & conservatory. Have got two carbon monoxide monitors, one downstairs & one up.

I love it!! burns wonderfully, I had no problems with lighting it, I bought one of those butane propane mix gas blow torch things, gets it going in seconds...

I have tried to add some photo's as I did a kind of photo diary, they are however in no particular order..(I'm not very pc savy).

just a run down on cost for anyone who's interested...


Removal of old fire...free...did it our selves
Sweeping & testing of chimney...£80
Buying and fitting of lintel...£90
Slate Hearth 120mm x 90mm...£45
Carbon monoxide monitors...£12 each
Fitting of stove & all other work by Hetas man....£400.


Still got some cosmetic work left to do, but that can wait till we save some more...
