  • Hi just to say my 16 y o son opened his JISA in April. I don't have one myself, but he earns the 6% because he is over 16. My daughter, being 13, would only earn 3% because I don't have an ISA with HBOS.

There's an article in today's Sunday Times Money section which may be useful.

Is it likely that more competitive Junior cash ISA offerings will be made available as we approach April and those with CTFs will be able to transfer those over if they want?
  • My son was born June 2005 & so has a CTF. I want to transfer it to a Junior ISA in April. Am I correct in thinking I can't transfer it to the Nationwide, Coventry or Mansfield? If so, why? And where can I transfer it to?

I don't think the CTF to JISA transfer process has as yet been detailed by anyone, and I don't know whether Nationwide, Coventry or Mansfield will offer the transfer but they will probably only offer cash JISAs which may be a worse choice than an S&S JISA as your son still has 8 years before the investment matures.

May be this article will give you some ideas:

I'm none to clever in this stuff so if you could put the answer in laymans terms i'd be most grateful..

    Hi eddiemacthedog

I have just requested transfer of my son's Nationwide CTF to a JISA with Hargreaves Lansdown.

There is a transfer form on their site.
