This is something you need to pay for yourself, but take advice from motability first about what you can and can't do with a car

    example (i think)
you can't fit a tow bar without asking permission from motability..

Q Can I fit a tow bar to my car?

A Yes, however you will need to speak to Motability Operations to obtain approval to fit a tow bar. They will also give you advice on which agencies are best suited to do the work and where you can get information on your car’s capacity for towing. You will also need to inform RSAM, once the towbar is fitted.

Q Do I need to remove my towbar at the end of contract?

A In general, no. However if you want to keep the tow bar you will be liable for the removal costs and any costs relating to reinstating the bodywork to an acceptable condition.

  • snow tyres arent needed in the uk. you wouldnt even notice the differance..... and yes i have used them 3 years running while travelling back and forth to germany on a weekly basis , they were fitted only to comply in germany.

Makers and sellers have been lobbying both Government and the public in the UK for years, cos they can take twice as much money out of our pockets and into theirs for years .. .. so they would wouldn't they :D

So unless Europe push it down our throats it will never happen thank god. We are not Finland / Norway / Slovenia / Switzerland etc and I agree we do not need them. People who want [STRIKE]not need[/STRIKE] them of course should feel free but I agree out of their own personal pockets .. .. I mean .. .. under those rules everyone who lives north of Cumbria would be entitled to bull bars & roll over cages because of 'deer' on the roads !

  • We live at the bottom of a very steep hill. Last year several vehicles got stuck at the bottom of the hill (including a police van which had to be dug out).
So, we bought some snow chains, if you are worried maybe you could do the same?
