We found the quickest and easiest way form Girona was to catch a cab to GIrona rail station where you can easily catch a train straight into central Barcelona, cheaper and less crowded than the bus, the train journey was less than 10 euros.0

Girona is lovely, it has a great old town area and cathedral. If you hire a car there are some great places to visit nearby. or you could use medhotels to get a deal in Lloret or Tossa...though they're no match for Barcelona.0
