Changing an Orange Tarriff 12 months into Contract?!
My OH has an iPhone 4 with Orange which he took out September 2010. His tarriff is something like £60 a month. It was fine initially as he used the phone for work, and they will give him some money towards the bill each month.Work have now given him his own mobile, so he doesn't need as many minute on the contact. He rang them up on Friday, but they said that he is only allowed to downgrade by one plan, so he'll still have to pay around £50 a month. They said that they have never downgraded contacts by more than one plan. Does anyone know if this is correct? I used to be with Orange and i downgraded from £40ish a month to £15 when I lost my job a couple of years ago.
*Edit: He's actually 14 months in to the contract, which is 24 months long

What they say is correct for the time being. How can they recover the cost of the heavily subsidised handset if they allow downgrading from £50 to, say £15?
Some other networks don't allow any downgrading during the minimum term.0 -
What is the minimum term? He only wants to downgrade to around £40 a month.:oGetting married 23rd June 2012!!:o0

Usually it is 12/18/24 months. Last year there were 36 months contracts as well.
"12 months into Contract" - what contract? I guess it is either 18 or 24 because Orange allow downgrading only in the second half of the min term.0 -
