New boiler/kitchen - how to organise?

We are currently in the process of buying a house, and would wish to remove the old baxi back boiler, which is behind the fireplace, and have a combi boiler put in the kitchen. We will be having a new kitchen fitted, so not sure how we would plan this - would it be better to have the boiler fitted in the kitchen first, then plan the kitchen round it, or have the kitchen fitted, then add the boiler? Help! :rotfl:

You have to decide where the boiler goes first, as it may be rather limited in terms of flue etc. You don't want to have to remove your kitchen units and saw them down to size to fit the boiler in afterwards. Like what I did.
But the boiler doesn't have to go in the kitchen - there might be a better place for it. The loft?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
buy a tall larder unit pack,
the type of thing (built in fridge freezers) go into,
and use (half of it for your boiler) the carcase will have to be
reduced a couple of big sash cramps and some glue,
and bobs your uncle ..............
do not forget " the space needed top bottom front and sides "
and ventilation...............
* the last poster is corect the fan flue outlet is, influenced by rules,
fit the bolier first but make sure the boiler is sited " exactly " and you will be fine......................0 -
there are other options.
ours is in the 3rd bedroom inside a wardrobe.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks all of you, so definitely need to get the boiler situated first, I will explore all options, wouldn't want it in the third bedroom as we need the wardrobe space in there, but the loft might be an idea, just need to find tradesmen to get quotes now, and then we will have a better idea!0

Hi
No!!!
If the new boiler needs to go in the kitchen then:
1) Get boiler person round to discuss the possible locations for the new boiler.
2) Get kitchen designer in to measure and discuss the best location from a kitchen design perspective for the boiler.
3) Once the boiler location is decided then get boiler fitted.
4) The kitchen designer will need to come back to confirm the exact position prior to the new kitchen being fitted.
Good luck

Hi...first you need to establish if a combi can be installed in your property and whether it would meet your heating and DHW requirements..more here. Good advice in Post 6.
