I'm so squeezed at the moment - I took a big pay cut for this job because I hoped it would be more rewarding... but it's also 200 miles from home so there are costs for staying over and travelling all the time... plus I've been supporting my sister to the tune of £600 a month because she doesn't have a proper income... I've been getting gradually deeper into my (authorised) overdraft lately and trying desperately pull back on spending / reduce costs just to stay afloat.
This was exactly what I needed to help with that financial stress!
How long? what is she doing to resolve the situation.
£600 is a lot people live on less.

My plan at the moment is borrowed from Barclays - they're expiring the credit card next Monday
Only joking, I have of course told her about the replacement and offered to send it to her (she doesn't live near me).
She's been living her dream for about a year and a half now - she had a 'mid-life crisis' at age 26 and realised that she didn't like the way her life was going, so she broke off her engagement, shook off her share of the mortgage, quit her job and started living a more alternative lifestyle.
She really needed to do it and I'm proud of her for making the change. I offered her the financial help after she moved into a proper rented room (from her mate's sofa), for emergencies and for situations where she needed to use a card instead of cash, because she was unable to open her own bank account. There was a time when the whole family was worried about what might become of her - drugs? Prostitution? With her living so far from any of us and being difficult to reach, we all felt much better knowing she had help if she needed it.
Of course that was when I was still earning a great salary, before I got made redundant and before I started working such a long way from home. And she recognises that - she started having wages for some small part-time jobs paid directly into my account. It's just that she's now also got a few direct debits coming out of my account too and the credit card bill isn't shrinking (I pay it off every month of course, to avoid interest, but it constantly rebuilds).
My sister recently had to have a cardiac operation for a heart problem that came to light. She's now off the drugs, works when she can and has really started to build up her new self-employed career (she's a model and agent). So things are on the up and, most importantly, she's safe and healthy again.
Now that I'm starting to struggle with my new expenses and lower salary, and now that she's recovered from her health problems, I hope that she can start to wean off...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
