vodafone contract advice

Hi, Was wondering if someone could give me some advice.

I have a vodafone sim plan. I've had it for about 6 months, its supposed to be a set amount each month but after a couple of months i noticed they had taken nearly £4 more than they should have, when I queried it they said they would take it off the next months bill but wouldn't say why I had been over charged in the first place. Again they've taken more than the monthly amount, this time I'm told that its because I've been ringing a premium rate number ( news to me ) when I argued that I haven't rang any such number, the guy actually said that I must have left my phone in my pocket and a friend must have used it!!!!! he also said that the time I was charged nearly £4 over it was because I'd rang the same number, when I pointed out that they'd given me that money back and it was news to me that that was the reason why they'd taken it in the first place he didn't answer, he said I'd been ringing numbers that start 22 ( no idea what thats all about ) I said I'd be more than happy to take my phone to a vodafone shop and show them the log cause there's been no 22 calls, in fact in one month there was no calls made at all. the guy seemed to think I was some sort of idiot.

I've told vodafone that I want to cancel the sim, but theyve told me that it's going to cost me £56.10p to cancel it. I checked their web site and under cancelling a sim plan it says
"If you want to end your contract, please write to us giving 30 days notice - you can send us a letter or an email."
No mention of any fee. I have to say their customer services is terrible, I'm cancelling it because they are charging me for unknown calls yet cant seem to give me the numbers of what I'm supposed to have rang!!!! I can see me having to pay this to get out of it tho

Does your bill not show the number in question?

It should be easy for you to check.

Incidentally, you have quoted the section of the terms regarding cancelling once the minimum term is complete not the section regarding early termination.

This depends on the min term of the contract. There are 3 types at Voda:
    30 day plans
    90 day plans
    12 month plans.

Early termination fee is the cost of all remaining months.
2 Your agreement perioda We’ll continue to supply you with, and you must pay the charges for, the services until we or you end this agreement in line with clause 11.
b If this agreement ends before the end of the minimum period (whether by you or us), you must still pay all the line-rental charges until the end of the minimum period. This applies when this agreement comes to an end in clause 11, except if:

    • we end this agreement under clause 11a; or
    • you end this agreement under clause 11b; or
    • we end this agreement because we are permanently unable to provide the services to you.
Re the extra charges, can you not check the itemised bill?

I've never had an itemised bill, I've asked for one more than once to try and sort out what this number that starts 22 is, all the guy told me was its a 22 number, thats the first time I've ever heard of such a thing.
I can see I'm going to have to pay to get out of it. :(

Ok, now we have a new reason for the over charge. They're now saying it for using the internet, I pointed out that that was included in the monthly cost, "hm" says the guy. Then he tells me I've been ringing roadwatch, I've no idea what that is. then he says I can use my phone as much as I want next month and I wont be charged if I agreed to stay with them.
I've told them I'm cutting my losses with them, they're overcharging and they don't even seem to be able to work out why.

    Hi fin7,

Firstly I am sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding your bill. If you want to be able to access a full itemised bill, you can do so by registering here for My Account. This will show any usage from your handset.

If you want to email me personally so that I can explain everything in more detail, you can contact me via the address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject and include a link to your post.

    Thanks,
