Still.... pause for thought OP before setting up another auction you won't fulfill for shirking the reserve fee.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

    See that's why he/she's called smartie ;+)
Couldn't get my head round that page!

But I think if the gist of it is that someone could in theory sue you (irrelevant to what ebays T&C's actually state) and your concerned about it.
Don't admit your not selling because of the low price state that it's been stolen/damaged and resell on another persons ebay account (and set a reserve) or Loot etc.
  • Sorry but that is exactly the kind of dishonesty that ruins ebay!

Imagine if the boot was on the other foot and you had won an item at a bargain price (the whole reason we all belong to this site!) and the seller refused to sell the item cos they wanted more money for it. You would be pretty mad!

So take the hit and learn the lesson to use reserve prices in future if you're not prepared to let items go for less than a certain amount

I think a lot of people are showing as logged on but can't actually do anything, hence the duplicated posts.

I've been only able to look, but not able to do anything for about half an hour.

May be dishonest, but no one is going to let 3k item go for 500 not even you cracker.

All this shows is how naive the OP was about ebay, wont make that mistake again.

As for being sued for loss of bargain, you have more chance of being run over in the desert by a mouse stearing a ship.

Ebay is not an AUCTION site, so the auction rules do not apply here, and you are signing a contract with ebay not the seller.

to be honest.. i'd email the buyer and say the item has been damaged.. and therefore not in the condition as stated in the auction. :)

if someone bid £3000 on an item you had listed and the item was worth £500 would you expect them to buy

Yes, but then anyone who knows what they are doing would have set a reserve or a better start price so the situation would not have arisen.

I haven't ever sold a 3k item, but if I did I would be exceptionally careful how I went about it.
