    and you got more.

Yep, £15 for absolutely no fuss is a really good result.
  • Thank you all so much for your replies :) (even though some have made me feel a bit queasy haha)
  • When I brought a cake that ended up being 4 days out of date when I got home, I only received a refund on the cake and then a replacement cake (The cake was about £2-£3) however the store was a bus ride away.

Long bus ride if it takes over 4 days to get home :)

I've had a few of these (is it just me??):
    - Piece of ham on a vegetarian pizza (Sainsbury),
    - Large green bug thing in a carton of orange juice (Tesco),
    - Alive (!?) bug thing in a jar of dolmades (Asda), although it was dead by the time I squealed and screwed the lid back down again.

In each circumstance, I took the item back to the supermarket it was bought from immediately and had the complaint processed at the customer service desk. And each time they promised to investigate the manufacturing process, although I only ever had an update on this from Sainsbury's.

Each place has given me £10-£20 voucher as compensation

I think I'd have asked for £15.50. £15 just seems so inadequate!

I wrote to Jordans to complain about some pubic hairs I found in some muesli once...After a couple of letters, then having to package the things up, send them off, etc - I finally got a cheque for £9.23 - I was a little insulted, tbh...but the money didn't really matter, there's no way I'm every buying the stuff again in any case.

How do you know it was pubic hair

I once found an earwig crawling in my pain au raisin when I was on holiday in France. I almost ate it but I saw it crawling just in time. I wanted to complain to the bakery but my Mum said there wasn't any point as they would just say we put it in there to get compensation.

I couldn't eat another pain au raisin for years and only now can eat it by pulling it apart completely first.

i think they live in Paris, France but bought the cake in Glasgow, Scotland and then caught the no 9 bus back to Paris, but they were divirted at Leeds due to roadworks which delayed their bus trip home, hence the cake was 4 days old by the time they got home :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
