House purchase fallen through
Comments

The vendors have asked for a meeting with us on Saturday to discuss. We are fortunate to have the luxury of time and can offer them more time to find a suitable purchase, though we will insist on exchange asap from here if they take that option from us. Beyond that we have a small leeway to offer financially but we are now thinking about this with our heads not our hearts having got over the initial shock of it all and we believe that whatever the outcome from here it will be for the best either way.
Thanks for your thoughts. (supermumno1 - logged in under DH's name sorry!)0 -
I hope you get a good outcome . I ended up losing my dream house because my buyer pulled out at the 11th hour and the chain collapsed. I got another offer straight away but still lost out on the purchase and ended up living with my family for 8 weeks. Ironically I completed on my sale before the "dream " house completed on theirs! I did find a house I liked but not as much as the original one and I still get a pang every time i pass the dream house. I sympathise with you .It is so stressfull !!:eek:Murphys no more pies club member 275:j0

Well after trawling Estate Agents on Saturday we picked up brochures on anything in our chosen areas and price range and viewed as many as we could.
Incredibly we found a great house with brilliant space in the right area for the right price. The house had been under offer but the sale had fallen through due to the chain collapsing. The vendors were moving into rented before buying abroad so were chain free.
Went for second viewing on Sunday and love the place. Put offer in on Monday which was accepted straight away. Now waiting to find out when survey will be done.
The vendor has assured us that she won't pull out of the sale and that she can move at our convenience. I'm not letting myself get excited though until I am holding the keys and even then I'll have to watch it in case I go into early labour!!!
I'm hoping and praying that things work out this time as I'll have run out of savings to do it all over again.
To be honest this house is better suited to us than the one that fell through. Slightly less work to do and rooms are set out better.
Has all worked out for the best so far and will keep you all updated. Any news your end supermum?Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006

Well good news from us too - the vendors have agreed to the sale to us after all. We have offered them more time to find a suitable property and we will be getting the contracts signed asap with a flexible completion date but within a max of 6 months time. This arrangement suits us just fine, is costing us nothing extra and gives the vendor the chance to ensure they are happy with their new choice too. So it's not quite signed and sealed just yet but I feel confident that things will work out just fine after talking with them today. We have also exchanged phone numbers now so we can talk directly instead of going through the agent all the time.
Anya - congratulations on the new place. I hope it all goes smoothly for you now and no popping out that baby too early!

Oh good - thats really good news for you. I think it is so much easier if you have a direct phone number for the other people involved - saves messing around. Hope it all works out well for you. Bet that felt like a huge relief not having to lose all your money. Congratulations! Lets hope they find somewhere soon now!Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006
