To be honest, I dont agree with speeding, and the job I do I would be wrong in saying that speeding is o.k and I would be somewhat hipocritical if I said it was ok for me and not for someone else. I am an advanced driver and yes I would consider myself a safer driver then a majority of people on the roads. I have purchased a radar detector today, I do have points on my license and cannot afford to get any more. Please understand I do not think speeding is o.k however the new Zero Tolerance is a bit too harsh, these days going 31 in a 30 mile limit you will get a ticket, so to prevent this you should drive 5 miles under the limit to make sure you wont get one (to allow for descrepencies). I am buying one of these devices as they are proven between 26-28% to reduce the amount of accidents. I think speeding is the less of our worries, there are some people on the road without licenses, and I dont think I have seen any discussion about that.
Thanks to the original post, it allowed me to look around and I then found Speedsafe.

i think they can be a good thing as it warns you of accident black spots0

Thanx to Scooby for this, great find.
Does anyone know if this can be used through a heated windscreen, or does the metal filaments interfere with it??

Sorry if this turned into a massive fall out.
There are argumeants for and very much against just thought this site was about saving money - And as so many people have taken time and effort and i personally thank you it was a change for me to be able to post something that was not all ready over the net.
One last point - I do hear taxi drivers refer to the yellow gatso as " tony blairs money box,s"
PS I did not know if a referal link and it was not meant like that - just copied and pasted link - anybody that feels so strongly please edit or post another link ;-)Tell it as it should be....0 -
It's not a referral link!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

If you notice the original message, it was edited by one of the controllers. He edited out the referral part of the link. People can still find the product without it being a referral. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi Everyone,
Please read my link, it was posted as a reply after Scoobys, if you ring Speedsafe you get it for £90 all inclusive rather then £100, so jointly between me and scooby you are getting an even better deal.
The number is on the first page of this thread0 -

They aint morally right to use one to avade detection all because some selfish person couldn't careless as long as they aint convienanced and can get to a-b and to hell with anyone who gets in the way.
Shouldn't be in the way then should they.
If we weren't meant to speed cars wouldn't go fast, it's human nature to push that little bit extra. If you want to adhere to the law, why not use the cars speedo that's what its for.Thats a load of rubbish that it is a safety device. Use you speedo adhere to the speeds limist and or road conditions or better still dont drive at all
May not be a safety device but like the copper said the speed laws right now are a joke with getting screwed for going 1mph over the limit.
You're just jealous cos you're a big green ogre and live in a swamp where there are no cars..
Personally i don't mind speed cameras. Used to hate them but now because of speed cameras my license is clean and i can put my peg down when i need to without worrying too much about a blue light in my rear view.
More speed cameras = less sewer rats** on the road so they've screwed themselves.. Which (going off subject) means they can't even enforce the mobile phone law.
Now all we need is a traffic warden detector that lets off a high pitch ultrasonic sound when one of those power hungry rimtards approaches your car.
** sewer rat was the name a copper i know said the rest of the force call the traffic police.
If anybody wants to complain about this thread please read my sig first and then jog on cos i won't listen..
i thank you. x x0 -

I looked into this for my Focus and the simple answer is yes it will interfere!
To use one I was advised that you would need to position the unit in an area that is not covered by the heating element, usually to lower left and right of the screen on Fords.
