No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in November Challenge

Hello! Happy November!
I've had a few necessary ins- Some Andrew Collinge shampoo and conditioner (I need some shampoo and this was on offer, so why not!) and those free facewipes to test (thank you!) I have also packed a bag of toiletries and other bits to be given to my sisters and mom to fight over but i'll report those when they're done.
Make up and nail varnish however is a different story all together. I've realised that painting my nails is almost symbolic- it's time for me. I can't change the bed, make the tea, write essays or anything like that whilst it's drying so I take that time just to relax. For me, it's totally worth it
Have a great evening ladies!0 -

Now all I need is an alternative use for body cream (entire showroom of leather need rehydrating perhaps?).........:)
On a similar theme, I know this forum is all about the best use/alternative use etc - but that probably doesn't excuse the face scrub that ended up on my hair this morning instead of conditioner, does it?0 -
Unwanted body cream has several uses. I got bored of the heavy chocolate smell of one body butter so I'm using it up as foot cream. Unloved lotions and creams are indeed great at cleaning and conditioning leather. A tiny Non Bought in was a phial of perfume, it's very late so can't remember what it was, something expensive!
Shower gel spluttering, not much left of body butter foot cream. These may be the last UU's for a couple of weeks though.
Asked for freebie sachets of the Elvive shampoo & conditioner that tempted me so much. I just hope I don't really, really like it.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning all,
2 more INs this morning
2 packets of mystery face wipes to test for AlbaScience! :j
Quite exciting, I wonder what brand they are!
I am also making progress with my bb! I think I have managed to use about half, might be finished next year! :-)0 -
Oh how blonde am I.....been up to my eyes in life and forgot to come and say "I'm in please!"
Cheers to Sarah for starting the new thread!

So, as a bit of a Friday funny for you all - my boyfriend is a musician and one of his songs was nominated for a competition (although not one of his best, if I say so myself!). With one day to officially enter, we managed to put together the worlds most amateur music video, although I think we are strangely proud of it despite it being a bit of a hotchpotch of what we could cobble together with resources we had.
The competition is up via Facebook and there is a cash prize, so if any of you would like to help us out and vote for him I would very much appreciate it and will happily send spare toiletries in thanks to any voters if we win :rotfl::rotfl:
Here is the link - you need to 'like' the facebook page which is Catapult Song Contest, and then it'll let you search for him (James Scanlon) and then you can vote for his song. And of course, see the wonderful music video. Fortunately I don't feature in it anywhere!(and there is no obligation to watch the whole video - you can vote without watching if you don't have time!)
http://apps.facebook.com/catapultsongcontest/view/112ac9
If you can spare your time and vote, I love you very much and would send a virtual hug except I can't find it - even if you don't vote, I hope it gives you a bit of a laugh for a fairly dismal Friday!

oh this sounds like great fun!! i have TONNES of things i need to use up.
i have the PRCP thing in my head right now. i have so many lovely things i think "i dont want it to get ruined" even though they cost a couple of quid!.
I will be joining in too! i have loads of shampoos and conditioners half used sitting in the cupboard, and they had a half price sale on herbal essences a few months back in Tesco, so i did get a few sets...oops!

Hi Helen  Welcome! You've already 'joined in' just by postingLots of us find it useful to make a list of what we already have in our 'stash' to give us a heads start on what not to buy - whether you post it here or not is up to you - but we do like a nosy
We also like reviews of products so feel free to share when you have a 'UU' a Used Up (we also like our abbreviations! :rotfl:Have a look at post #1 for more)
Nothing exciting happening for me in the toiletries departmentbut I have been back to the pain clinic at the hospital and have an update on that: I am now on another pain med - Gabapentine - and have to go in as a day patient in a few weeks for a Lidocaine Infusion - yep! sounds as bleurggh as it is. I have to go on a drip for an hour and have Lidocaine pumped into my body under local anesthectic. Then I have to go home and OH has to 'watch me' for 4 days . if it works I have to have it redone every 6 months or so. I don't care about that as long as it works
Have a great weekend all :cool:0
