Hi supersully
. Is there any chance you could enlarge your font size for those of us with knacke**d eyes? Would be grateful not to squint, it makes my wrinkles worse
.
Oops at the number of brown eye shadows!

Hi everybody. I am back from my trip to the US and back to the challenge although obviously my stash has grown but it would have grown at Christmas time anyway.
The only unnecessary spends were shower gels and body lotions which I still have in my stash but I couldn't visit there and not shop at The Bath and Body Works. They had offer on buy 3 get 3 free plus they were running their Christmas promotions already and the GWP of any product of choice up to $13 was applicable on spends over $15. Got 3 body washes : Sweet Pea, White Citrus and Japanese Cherry Blossom; Body Lotions : Sweet Pea and White Citrus. Body Scrub : White Citrus. Free gifts were another White Citrus shower gel and a liquid soap for Emma (one of the cute Christmas ones that's snowman shaped.
Also bought a bottle of Philosophy Harvest Spice shower gel.
Cosmetics wise I think I was rather restrained if I say so myself - I only bought things that I did need (apart from the lacquers of course (my other obsession)):-
Benefit Lemon Aid - not sure if this is being discontinued cos I only found it in one store - have been using Dainty Doll instead which is ok but not as thick in consistency so I've had to apply more. Can see the bottom of the pan of this product.
Set of 6 Smashbox lipglosses - just cos I love them. All the colours are fab.
Laura Geller Bronze & Brighten and a bottle of Spackle. Love the Spackle (was getting to the end of my tube of Smashbox primer). Not sure about the BnB. Needed something to wear on hols once I had colour but think this still can look muddy although the pinky tones in it gave my face a lift. Will see how it is now I'm back home.
Hair Rules Smoothing Serum. My hair had turned to frizz over there so bought this serum and went back for a second tube. It's wonderful stuff. Am having a look online now but bet you can't get it in UK.
Lacquers: OK I have an obsession with these however was fairly disappointed with the choice in the US. My usual store I visit had very little of stock of OPI. Bought the replacement bottle of Elephantastic Pink that I wanted and then got a bottle of Essie Lovie Dovie (another girlie holiday pink colour). Later in the holiday the OPI Holiday Muppet colours were released however by the time I found them a couple of the colours I wanted had already sold out - bought 2 colours for me and 1 for Emma - I got Anamalistic and Meep Meep Meep and bought Excuse Moi for Emma.
I also bought 3 bottles of Essie top coat which were on 3 for 2 offer.
MrM bought me a fab set of OPI for Sephora lacquers from Sephora - 18 mini bottles.
So DEFINITELY will not be buying anything else this side of Christmas.
Have received the freepost label from Liz Earle to return the Shave Cream I emailed them about and have emailed them to ask if they will just replace it with a bottle of Cleanse and Polish rather than a refund as I was going to get Emma a bottle for Christmas in any event.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Another small UU for me:-
John Frieda conditioner tube that comes with the hair dye. WBA as I like the dye.
My OH UU'd his shower gel yesterday (not counting his UU's as he doesn't have a lot of toiletries) - but he looked SO chuffed walking past me to the bin..."Look! You'll be really pleased with me! I've finished my shower gel!", bless him! :rotfl:
Things it feels I can only dream of using up:-
Nail polishes - I have such a big collection that they just never seem to run out.
Eyeshadows - I wear eyeshadow every day but they last forever til long after i'm bored with them.
Body butters - just have waaaaaay too many of these and keep forgetting to actually use them.No Buying Toiletries Challenge since 23/10/2011
OUTs so far: 111 :j0 -
I So if anyone else would like to try them (one unopened pack, one pack with 3 or 4 wipes taken from it) let me know
you can send 'em to me hun - I can use them on the pups - saves having to chuck 'em in the bath after every walk :rotfl:My OH UU'd his shower gel yesterday (not counting his UU's as he doesn't have a lot of toiletries) - but he looked SO chuffed walking past me to the bin..."Look! Awww blessI save my 'empties' and change them at Origins for free product samples. My OH never tells me when he's finished something and I usually have to go fishing in the bin to find them :rotfl:

My DKNY one is spluttering but it's becoming really difficult to get it out of the spray pump (although that is partly due to the shape of the bottle - very pretty but also rather impractical at this point!), and whilst part of me wants to just say 'stuff it' and throw it away I feel wasteful doing that. The lid is also secured in a way that means you can't get it off, otherwise I'd take it off, dab it on with my fingers or a cotton bud and then put it back on. Grrr.

Hi just catching up with this month's thread since returning from hols.
There are ways and means of getting the tops off bottles - I used up loads of mine prior to my hols. MrM used pliers on the tops of my bottles to get them off! It can be done with brute force! :rotfl:
Which has reminded me that I didn't mention the bottle of Daisy I bought at the airport nor the bottle of Tresomme shampoo whilst away - really impressed with the US as they give you salon pumps on the top of their Tresomme products. Were on offer and as cheap as here when it's on offer IYSWIM.
I also forgot to mention the UUs which were very small in comparison to the INS but nevertheless we used up between us 2 x bottles of travel sized L'Occitane shampoo (WNBA - all the L'Occitane travel sizes came in a kit from my sister last Christmas who loves L'Occitane but I can take or leave their body products); 2 x bottles of L'Occitane and Tresomme conditioner) 2 x bottles of L'occitane shower gel (verbena and Reuben d'Orange) 1 x bottle of L'occitane body lotion. 2 x sachet of L'occitane facial scrub (got these as GWP from Cheshire Oaks ages ago).
Brought back a travel sized Garnier conditioner and L'Occitane shower cream.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

well I managed the 1st day with no INNs - good start
hoping to use up a couple of bits over the coming week.
Planning an INN though - has anyone used Soap and Glory Hot cloth cleanser? I fancied the Liz Earle one but S&G is cheaper!
Not sure if you've purchased already but for my twopenneth I still haven't found a good replacement for Liz Earle C&P. I stopped using it when the Almond Milk was removed but having tried various "copies" haven't found that HG hot cloth cleanser. The S&G one for me was ok but the packaging was naff - don't understand why cleanser has to be in anything other than a bottle with a pump on it. TBH though I think the fact that none of them have Eucalyptus in them like C&P is the real downfall as the smell of C&P is devine.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Welcome newbies :hello:
A heads up for those that NEED shampoo/conditioner this month (I stress NEED) - All haircare is 1/2 price in Sainsburys:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3586697
Alberto Balsam 50p/51p a bottle :T :T
Here's an example of how I have still not been cured of my obsession for cosmetic bargain. Went into Sainsbury's yesterday - saw Happy Hair Days on half price (didn't even realise it was all shampoos) - bought a bottle for Emma as she loves it. Got home, unpacked the shopping, took shampoo to bathroom and there staring at me was the huge bottle of Tresomme I'd just brought back from US!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Checking in yet another freebie
55ml sample of Dove Body Wash!
Oh that's reminded me of another IN for me. I don't know if I posted about this before I went away but a won a full size tube of Mantana Spa shower gel from Sainsbury's. I voted in their Beauty Products campaign and won this because I was one of the first 1000. Did anyone else get one? It was waiting here for me when I arrived home - think it's the Amber one in a purple tube.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Some needed ins! (feels very weird saying that)
Cheapo sainsburys shampoo for OH- I bought 2 different types for approx. 60p
3 Colgate toothpastes from the £shop. They were 3 for £2 and I had just got the last tube out the drawer today.
Some cotton wool balls because I needed them.0
