I'm not a cat person though unfortunately my neighbours have a few. I understand from them that their cats go walkabout from time to time. It's what cats do. Many cat owners like to boast how independent their pets are - as opposed to dogs for example. Then they get all upset when they exert their freedom of choice and go awol.
Don't get me wrong - I understand the worry when a beloved pet goes missing. But it seems to me that if you choose a cat, it comes with the territory.

She's quite distinguished looking so hopefully someone will recognise her.

Just want to support the advice of others and don't give up. There was a stray hanging around the pub where I work for a few months, eventually I decided to take her to Cat Protection as the weather was getting worse. They scanned her and she had been reported missing from home three months previously and lived a good 10 miles away.

I can only hope that someone like you finds my missing cat. He's microchipped and has been missing 6 weeks now and I'm heartbroken. If only someone like you would realise he's lost and take him to get scanned though.

We thought Karma had helped us as we had previously helped 3 lost dogs in the past

    Thanks for all your advice.

Still no sign and have done most of the suggested. Going to call the council etc tomorrow to check with them.

Our other Cat Charlie is really missing her, he keeps going out and coming back in crying, I thought she might hear him and come home,

Where do I scatter the hoover? Just outside the door or should I go a bit further away?

I keep checking your thread to see if she has come home. Ringing the council was the hardest of the phonecalls that I made when my lad went missing. Also, when I pounded the streets looking for him I used to rattle his dried food bag as well as call his name (but I didn't rattle the bag during my 2.30 am and 6am walks). Because there are back streets near my house, I even nosed in back yards (from the street though because I didn't want anyone to think that I was up to no good)

I didn't scatter the hoover bag but put bits as far as you can. We think that my lad got lost and couldn't find his way home so we walked everywhere - all possible routes just so he could pick up our scent or we could see him.

When walking, look under bushes, under cars, any dark places where they can hide. Don't give up hope.

Don't give up hope, my Tess once went awol for 4 days & had never done so before or since in the 11 years i've had her; I can only imagine she got locked into a garage or shed. Please keep us updated.

Still no luck, been to ask all the neighbors and no one has seen her
  • Ohhhh daisyboo (((hugs))) it's awful when they're missing.

Have you checked neighbours sheds/garages - Archie got locked in one for 3 days! (and we'd been in and looked but it was so full of junk & he must've been asleep!).

The vaccuum contents should go in your garden - I'd put a bit away from the door.

    Keeping everything crossed.

Just to let you all know that oreo had come home! She was sat on my doorstep when I got home from work. What makes it an even better story is that its my birthday today it eat the best present in the world! Think she had been in a neighbours outhouse as the door was open today.I'm so happy. She seems fine just very hungry x
