Possible missing cat :0(

I last say my 1 year old cat on Saturday night when I went to bed around 1am. and haven't seen her since.
I was out of the house from 12 till 4 yesterday and 9 till 5 today so she may have been home in the times but the food doesn't look touched.
We have another Cat and he is acting strange just keeps walking around crying and going out the cat flap and coming in again.
She normally doesn't go out that much and is usually found asleep on the sofa.
I have been outside and rattled the biscuit box, tapped the wet food bowl, rubbed her blanket around so she can smell and walked around the local area calling her. Normally as soon as our car pulls up she comes running to say hello if she is outside.
How soon is it to report her missing - do I even report her to anyone?
She is micro-chipped and I am making some posters now - not sure how much this will help as our neighbors cat looks nearly identical just a little bigger.

When my boy went missing, I ...
+ Rang all the vets and rescue centres near my house
+ Rang the cleansing department of the local council. Was a horrid job but I had to do it.
+ Made leaflets and posters.
+ Went out looking for him at 6am, 5pm, 8pm, 10pm and 2.30am (I was on mission!)
+ Made Facebook requests.
+ Spoke with my neighbours
+ Registered him (free) with the missing pets register
+ Rang RSPCA (they were lovely on the phone)
Make a note of who your ring because you need to tell them when you find your pet.
It's a horrible time for you and I was a cow to know when my lad went missing.
Good luck and keep us posted0 -

Oh she is lovely. Mine sleep like that and it is really cute to witness.
I hope that she turns up soon.0 -
What a horrible time for you - please check with your neighbours first in case she's got accidentally locked in their shed, garage, outhouse, etc. That happened to us once, one of ours went missing and we asked the neighbours who said they hadn't seen her. Then the day later, our neighbour opposite said she could hear miaowing - we could not quite place it but thought it could be the other neighbours garage which was at the bottom of their garden. Knocked on their door yet again and they said, no we have not seen your cat and have not been to our garage... Anyway, we sort of insisted they have a look as the other neighbour had heard miaowing, and yes, there she was, poor thing - locked up for 24h or so. She was all black and very curious so probably just went in unnoticed. Crossing my fingers for you!0

You may show her photos to you neighbours and ask them to help.
Maybe she has gone with other cat. One of my girls did that years ago.
Hope she will be back soon.0 -
Getting posters up now if I were you! And dropping leaflets through doors. The sooner the neighborhood know about her missing the better. Also contact your local council, it's horrible to do (think it's highways dept you ask for) but it needs to be done incase thet have picked her up on road
good luck though xxx 0 -
Another thing you can do, is to empty the contents of your vacuum cleaner into a sheltered spot in your garden. If she's gotten lost, the scent of home will help her to find her way back again. You can put a small amount of used litter in a sheltered spot, and some unwashed clothing of yours for the same reason.
If you go out to look for her, its best to go out in the evening when its quieter. Walk a distance from your house and only call her name as you head back towards your house. You don't want to be calling your cat to go in a direction thats not towards her home.
You should also call the micro-chip company so she is flagged as missing.
EDIT: Forgot to say, also place on ad on free sites like Gumtree and check for any found cats on there too.
I hope she comes home safeWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
She's quite distinguished looking so hopefully someone will recognise her.
Just want to support the advice of others and don't give up. There was a stray hanging around the pub where I work for a few months, eventually I decided to take her to Cat Protection as the weather was getting worse. They scanned her and she had been reported missing from home three months previously and lived a good 10 miles away.0 -
