MEganMay GC - £100 per week

DFW - March '13 - c/c £5600, April £4500, May £2500 :T0 -
I bought my dress last week and my wedding isn't until August 2013! I like to be prepared......apart from rings it is the last 'big' thing on my list...the venue was book this time last year with other buts and bobs being booked between then and now. It leaves me 20 months to do all the little things such as handmaking all my stationary and sorting other people's clothes etc.
I think if you know what you want, there's no point in waiting...some dresses can take up to 9 months to be made, mine is 6.....so if you leave it too late you might not get what you want. Also...by booking the cars, photographer and venue this year...we have secured 2011 prices for a 2013 wedding!"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. I'm the same! If it wasn't for the money side of things we'd be getting married next year. We've looked at dates in detail and when OH's days off are (he works 4 on, 4 off) and it looks like we may be going for 31st August 2013.... I was hoping for May/June
Think my plans are... book church & venue next week, then find photographer and cars once date is confirmed, then after xmas I'm going to start looking at dresses. Is there anything else that ought to be booked as soon as? I know stuff like BM dresses, suits, flowers etc can wait. Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -

I was joking to him I wanted to get married next august instead but we can't afford it yet, so august 10th 2013 it is :rotfl:
Were going to book insurance next year once everything else is booked.
Well so far I have done the following, it's just me though not saying it has to be done
We have booked church and reception and paid deposit, found photographer and dj and plan to book them in January ish, paid deposit on chair covers as she gave me a good deal, bought dress!!, bought favour boxes, guest book and little bits like that. I've listed everything on that thread I started, posted link above -

Well hopefully we can set the date after seeing our vicar on Monday evening so I may be joining your thread.
Glad I'm not the only one organising stuff early! I'd like to get as much done as I can, but got a lot on in the run up to xmas.
Can't wait to go dress shopping though! Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -
Dress shopping was great fun! I always imagined I'd find my dream dress in a shop rather then eBay lol I went shopping today and was naughty and tried on wedding bands and I've fallen in love with a diamond band! I told other half and made it seem like I was saving him money cause now he won't have to buy me an eternity ring lolSaving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!
