I'm just back from Sainsbury's- they had LOADS to the left of the door when you went in

the 4gb bundle with kinect was 187 ish

the 250gb on its own was 154.99

the 250gb bundle with kinect was 249.99

the kinect on its own was 94.99

and 'seleted' games were 30 each.

Personally for me the amazon bundle is better as i want the larger console with the extra's and games so i left it. Good deal if you want the 4gb tho!

  • gosh you got lucky - they've cottoned on and changed it, you can now only get the HDMI cable and one game at £10 (ie the max discount it'll apply for kinect bundle incl xbox games is just under £33). Gutted to miss out, never mind!

Argh. My son really wants the Modern Warfare console bundle from Game for Christmas, it has a MW customised console, 320GB memory, 2 MW controllers, 1 month XBox live gold membership and the Modern warfare game. £270.

He has his heart set on it, but it's so expensive, and I would basically be paying nearly £100 for the paintjob on the console and controllers and some extra memory compared to the Sainsbury deal. I don't know what to do:D

    Gentleorange,

I would go for the Sainsburys deal at £155, and then buy the Hardened edition of MW3 for as cheap as you can get it (apparently instore at Tesco for £69.99) which I know brings the total to £225, but the hardened edition includes membership of COD:Elite for one year, along with all the DLC for MW3 (normally 4-5 map packs over the next 12 months and they cost about £12 each). All new consoles ship with one month Xbox Live Gold membership and most games with a multiplayer function will have the same. Hunt around for xbox live and you can get a one year gold sub for about £31. All in it will cost ~£255.

If you get the deal in Game, you will pay for the console, all the DLC (the free MW3 game will be the ordinary edition), and the XBL sub. That's going to bring the total to about £350. Like you say, you'd be paying £100 for a paint job, and when he's playing online, the last thing he will be looking at is the case for his Xbox.

It's unlikely he will need the extra 70Gb of memory, and aftermarket controllers are about £15 each if he really needs one. I'd have a chat to him (I assume he's old enough to know about 'Santa') and point out that your option (the cheaper one :D) is going to give him more without having to moan at you to buy new map packs etc.
  • my3 girls that is the deal I got and posted :-) didn't realise it was a glitch, I am selling the two free games on meaning my bundle was only £200!
