Even so, I sell a lot to first time buyers and those with sub 5 feedback and there must be a fair few of them who don't use credit cards (or have them on file) - perhaps backed up by the amount of echeque payments I get from 'newbies'!It's only kicks in if they have a FB of 5 or less with no credit card on file.0 -

Buyer Requirements
Have received 2 unpaid item(s) recorded on their account within 12 month(s) Have a primary delivery address in a location I don't post to Have 4 policy breaches reported within 6 month(s) Have a Feedback score of -1 or lower Have a Feedback score of 5 or lower and no credit card on file I think the above are the tighest you can set your requirements.0 -
I don't block bidders without a CC and I'm the same as lovinituk in that I get quite a few orders from '0' rated buyers but all my items are low value so the chances of scammers are quite low and to be fair most of my NPB's are 'old hands' at eBay and have a fairly high rating - that said I still don't get that many - maybe 2 a month if that.
When I set up my eBay account I didn't have a CC on file as I'd cancelled all my cards at that point due to spending wayyyy to much and not wanting the temptation anymore - it's only been in the past 3 or 4 years that I got another and I always paid straight away, some people either choose not to have a CC or don't have the credit rating to get one.0 -

I keep getting told not to use recorded, so last week i risked a parcel without and got scammed. Buyer reported the item lost just 2 days after i posted 2nd class. Feedback left for others shows 20 problems in recent months with lost parcels.
Recorded does have it uses avoiding scammers - and more seem to actually track now.forgotmyname wrote: »You do block bidders with no credit card on file dont you?
Only sellers need a card on file - so your are blocking a heck of a lot of buyers for no reason.0 -
I dont have a card on file and wont be adding one because i dont trust ebay with someone elses barge pole. i only bid on items where i can collect the item or send a postal order because i have the same issue as paypal, it does stop me buying alot of things to be honest but i really dont want to give my details to paypal. most of my friends are the same.0

tech as I always say if you are attracting scammers then you really need to check your listings and maybe , despite your objections, block some buyers .I keep getting told not to use recorded, so last week i risked a parcel without and got scammed. I am still using basic 2nd class or basic airmail for all items up to £46 and apart from 2 losses to Poland in the past few weeks have had no other claims for non receipt since January.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
