Just sold some haircare products to someone who signed up to eBay today. Total has come to just over £40 including P+P. It was as a Buy It Now.
I know everyone has to start off somewhere, but it's just freaking me out a bit. Signed up and then spent over £40 in 1 go. Eeeek!
Any tips on how to keep myself safe and this not going tits up? I am thinking either Special Delivery or 1st class Recorded.

You can check on other auctions thay have bid on or won. Click on Advanced next to the blue Search box, then By bidder.
If it's just yours then it is a case of someone having to start somewhere.
I would send Ist class recorded0 -
I sold a laptop costing £250 to a zero rated bidder in Holland who had a dormant account for 3 years. The deal went through fine.0

First time buyers are welcome in my eyes as you could get repeat orders. Recorded is a total waste of money and if you are unsure, send parcelforce signed for or special delivery for peace of mind. I would thank them for the order and welcome them as a new buyer.0

Thanks for the posts guys. I have nothing whatsoever against first time buyer. I have sold to people that have 0 feedback in the past, and have been shot in the foot.
I just found it a bit freaky because they signed up to eBay today, and purchased on the same day. Anyway, wish me luck y'all.0 -
Maybe they signed up as they wanted to buy what you were selling.0

You do block bidders with no credit card on file dont you?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

My very first win on ebay was a PS3. I joined that day just to bid on it, so had no feedback either. The seller sent it first class, not even recorded. Although I had only joined ebay I did advise him that this was rather stupid as I could have been a scammer and declared Item Not Received and he would have lost the case....wasn't going to say anything as I paid for Next Day Special D and wasn't very pleased with him, although I did mark his stars low...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

I signed up to Ebay many years ago now, even before buy it now, I only signed up to buy a book that was finishing that day. I would think most people who don't have accounts only sign up to buy something they have seen on the same day.0

I don't! There are plenty of people who legitimately don't use or want credit cards - why alienate potential customers?forgotmyname wrote: »You do block bidders with no credit card on file dont you?0 -
